Hood Pins on Carbon Fiber hood?

I am ordering a Seibon or VIS carbon fiber hood for my e90 325i next week and am concerned as to whether or not I should include hood pins with the new lighter weight hood. The site I am purchasing the hood from(who also sells the hood pins) highly recommends including hood pins on any after market hood. However nearly ever build I have seen with bmw carbon fiber hoods do not include hood pins in their builds. What is the forum's opinion on including hood pins as a necessary safety feature on carbon fiber hoods?

That's new, haven't seen people with carbon fiber hoods on a bimmer. Unless it's a track car, personally never saw the point in dropping 2k on a hood that'll make a luxury car look tacky. Personal opinion though.

cost effective

The hood I'm looking at is a wet carbon hood and its around $650 versus having my current hood repainted for $1200 from the scam shop body shops here in my town.

For the tread revivalist, pins are actually not necessary on our cars since we have 3 hood connection points (1 latch, 2 support latches).

Cars that only have 1 latch def need hood pins w/ the lighter weight cf hood but our cars are fine without. Ask me how I know? I ran a cf hood for a couple years and it worked great! I will be getting another soon.

Aerocatches with impact cages. Installed on my car with a Seibon OEM CF hood.

What color is your car Justpete? Looks really good. I, like op am replacing my hood with CF since its cheaper. So the Pin set was not necessary? Im debating getting them, but they look pretty cool on your car!
