Given our obesity rate(s), everything is too crammed for Americans. We lead the world in fatties.

That said, I am sure there are some hard core M wagon enthusiasts who will still get one. But most likely not nearly as many M3T sales BMW probably could have made in the US. So whatever the sales figure delta is between M3 vs M5 sales, expect to see a similar delta between (would be) US M3T sales vs M5T sales. Thus most likely giving BMW more incentive to NOT bring any M wagons (or wagons period) to the US again. That said, I would not get one (or an M3T if one were offered) as I am not into wagons. But it would still be nice to see a M5T come to the US. And I hope there are enough M5T buyers to make it profitable, which would probably prove any M3T in US "nay sayers" at BMW corporate wrong…

G80/82/83 is easily big enough for up to about 6ft and plus really. 5'9 crammed in a modern 3/4 series, wow, I'm surprised. Not for me at 5'10.

That will be a $150k wagon based on typical premium over equivalent SUV and sedan. Also the going rate for RS6 and E63s wagons.

When it was first posted a while back about rumors of the M5T I immediately called my sales guy. He said, "don't believe everything you see on the internet". But, at the same time, they started a list and I have the first slot.
Very exciting because I've wanted a M5 Touring ever since the E34 version. Can't wait!

I would love one. I have a modded A6 allroad right now that's scratching the wagon itch. Really hope they bring other variants as well, the m550 would have been the perfect balance as a wagon for me. As much as I want a m5T, once we get north of a 120k, it becomes a irresponsible purchase for me. Car cost has really skyrocketed, hope it gets reeled back in.
Hopefully the new e63s and maybe an etron RS6 show up at about the same time for some competition. |

This has everything to do with body style federalization. The reason why the M5 is coming is because the standard 5-series Touring is coming. Since they are federalizing the wagon body style they can now bring the M5 Touring. Audi did the same with A5/RS6 and Mercedes did the same with E class wagon/AMG Since nobody bought the prior 3-series Touring BMW didn't bring it again for this generation. Despite what the internet mythologizes very few people actually buy wagons when they are offered—and that's why no M3 touring came or will come.
