So here in Sweden a repair shop named Grufman bil was threaten by Teslas lawyers because they had posted a video on social media of a model S with a broken support arm.

Apparently this is a known widespread problem on model S and X up to model year 2017 and in China Tesla was forced to do a recall because of this on about 30000 cars ,but apparently not over here!?
So the lawyers told Grufman to take the video down and they complied.

Really shitty behavior of Tesla!

Here is article about it in Swedish translated with google.

Garage List
2019 BMW M550i  [8.00]
on what grounds are they able to force someone to take down a video?

nm, looks like they were trying to advertise their garage while using tesla as an attention getter.

"It further appears to [our client] that it is obvious that the use of [our client's] brand in the posts seems to be motivated by the purpose of creating awareness about the business at Grufman Bil AB, which would mean that Grufman Bil AB makes improper use of [our client] reputation for personal gain ”.

Don't know if they really could take the video down if Grufman refused.
But i guess they got scared or wouldn't want to deal with hassle and potential money by keeping them up.

"These erroneous allegations and the message conveyed have been widely disseminated, which means harm to [our client] and risks misleading consumers,"

It's obvious that Tesla didn't like the negative critique of the fault that Grufman informed about.
If they where for an example a used car dealer that talked good about the Teslas they sell i don't think Tesla would mind at all.
But i think Tesla shoot them self in the foot here now it's a even bigger thing and people see the bad business practices Tesla is doing instead of fixing the original problem.

Didn't/doesn't stop Apple in these behaviors and people are still lining up at their stores.

Don't know what you are referring to about Apple ,rights to repair ,bad batteries?

But yeah i get what you are saying but i think this would put of some people of buying a Tesla.
And it's a pretty serious problem that could put people at harm.

Go visit a Youtuber named Louis Rossman. If you haven't heard of him, you will eventually. He's been the biggest champion of Right to Repair in the US....spending his own time and money (later getting donations from the public) to push Right to Repair legislation.

He has countless videos of piss poor Apple designs that Apple knows is a problem but won't fix. He's also received a legal threat from Apple and he didn't back down. Told Apple to pound sand and forwarded Apple's threat to his lawyer.

With all these known shortcuts/problems across many of Apple's products, people still line up at their stores.

I see much the same mindset with Tesla owners. So don't think this bad publicity is going to stop people from buying Teslas.

This shows Tesla's immaturity.

I still think Pamela Anderson would prefer it if she could get that video removed off the internet but even she is intelligent enough to understand that you can't get something removed from the internet.

I don't think anything like this would derail the Tesla train. There could be widespread issues of Tesla's blowing up and I'm confident that a lot of people would still buy them as they have a cult-like following right now. As an owner of a Tesla who has been driving since the 80's and has owned terrible vehicles like K-cars and early Ford Escorts I can say without hesitation my model 3 performance is most poorly built vehicle I have ever encountered. The motor and battery tech is great but the rest of the car is junk.

Yeah i have seen Louis videos.
There are people that would never buy an Apple product ,some because of how they are designed/function some because how Apple conduct their business.

Of course i think people are going to buy Teslas after this but some people that was on the fence of buying one might not and the people that don't like Tesla just reinforced what they think about them and would never buy one.

Quite simple they made more harm than good by threatening them by this.

Harm for who? Certainly not to Tesla themselves. Rich Rebuilds has plenty of videos showing issues/flaws with Teslas. Not to mention random owners putting up issues they've had on the Interwebs. Such as the one guy that hit some road debris that cracked one of the coolant fittings in the battery pack. Tesla's only solution was to replace the entire battery pack at a cost of $16k for just the battery. Or the guy that had his car in the shop for months and was paying for the monthly subscription for autopilot while not being able to use his car and Tesla refusing to refund any money.

I don't get what your arguing about!?!
And all those things you mentioned are bad for Tesla.

Do you think this is good or bad for Tesla?

And I'm asking how so when the vast majority of buyers won't care about this? You think this little blip is going to go viral and cause some sort of change in Tesla's behavior or policies. I got news for you. It won't.

I think it can make a small difference at least here in Sweden it's a pretty big news story here and people are not happy about it.

Ultimately it's just bad for Tesla ,this and other bad press they accumulated over the years.

Until you see actual sales numbers fall over in Sweden, it's not doing anything.

There's been a number of less than flattering articles and customer complaints on the Internet over here in the US for years, yet Tesla still remains the number EV manufacturer with no sign of being knocked off that perch anytime soon.

The sales don't need to fall they might not see as much growth i.e. sell as much cars as they could have done.

As i said people on the fence might look elsewhere.

There's got to be more to this. If this is a substantiated problem, from other users, and it's broken, there's usually no legal ground to get it removed. I've gotten the threats before, but they know they'll be creamed in court, so when push comes to shove, they back down.
