My old stomping grounds and the last university where I worked before moving here are going to get slammed if the forecast holds. Glad I don't have to deal with it. We got a couple of inches here today and that's enough of a hassle for me.

Completely fucking crazy.
What the hell you have a pool for in Toronto? You freeze it and play hockey? What do you have, like a 3 day swim season IF you heat it? Talk about crazy...

It's 11 F-ing degrees here this morning, with a 4 MPH wind. We received about an inch of powdery snow overnight, and there is very light super-fine snowflakes falling right now. It should be wrapping up soon here.....

Looks like we're in for a storm mid-week. I hope this doesn't hold up.

I don't entirely disagree though I expect you are underestimating the summer here. It's nowhere near as hot as back home in OZ, not sun hot anyways, but it is insanely humid. The pool was a godsend over the last two summers, other than a week at a cottage we went nowhere and did nothing so the pool was brilliant.

Season is late may through mid september, so yes, short.

It is cold in Winston-Salem but we missed the snow this time. Cannot wait for better driving weather soon. Been in the 30s-40s the past week for highs.

Oh wow, would have never guessed. At what temp do you hop in? I wait for 82, which usually happens here May 1ish. I can usually stand it through mid October. When do you winterize? Nice pool!

Don't start me. Me I am good at 80ish, maybe 82 as well. The wife wants it at 87+. Now in summer it gets a FULL days sun and warms up really fast, i don't use the heater Mid June through August. But man, shoulder months, she will grind that heater unless i happen to walk by and tweak it. We close Mid October, TBH that is too late, should do it earlier.

As for the summer here, it's very New York. Rarely gets above 30, maybe tops out at 35 but FUCK the humidity. So sticky. Back home we clear 40 regularly by that's more frying pan, this is oven.

Actually got into the high 30s here this morning, something we see only once in a while. I like a nice “cold-ish” snap here when we get them.

Meanwhile, in RI where I grew up, there was about 2’ of snow yesterday.
