Feline serial killer?
When is enough an enough? When do you have "the talk"? Is this something family just tries to manage?
Keeping the loved one away from society unless under supervision. Is that even reasonable?

Well this is a tough and odd subject, sorry you are going through whatever it is! Mental health is a very difficult subject. As someone who has had some serious mental issues that weren't caught until very destructive have the talk now. My family and spouse saw the warning signs while I didn't until I had a horrible break down causing life changing issues. Sad thing is I was someone who helped patients that were in life threatening states. I knew all the signs and symptoms but was blind to my self. The human mind can be your biggest help in life or your worst enemy.
Bottom line is, will you ultimately regret not doing something and then living with the consequences when something ultimately goes wrong? While they aren't your mistakes you can't be co-dependent or an enabler at the same time. Has the person seeked mental/medical council? Sometimes things can be managed but should always be monitored for falling off the wagon. Good luck to you and just do the best you can, I know it's rough and truly feel for you. |

In my family it is my father. It all came to a head as my grandmother was dying from COVID...couldn't reconcile what he believed from what was happening and so we all became the enemy. Police were called, my sister and uncle called and begged I come down to confront him to calm him down..but there was nothing I would have been able to do. We've all been more than concerned he's gone too extreme and we fear he may ultimately cause himself or others harm. We let him know of our concerns....he feigned surprise that we thought he was capable of this. My mom has since gotten out of there after 44 years of marriage and we got her safe.
Outside of myself, no one is talking to him anymore. We've distanced ourselves. My sister in law has gone so far as to change her last name on social media in case something happens she doesn't want to be easily linked to him. Depending on the mental affliction, confrontation could provoke a violent reaction. I don't have a whole lot of feedback other than I can tell you now that he's been removed...life is good. Some people you just need to remove from your life and cut all ties...even family. |

TBH I'm tired of having to dispose of the bodies and clean up.

I'm guessing he has an outdoor cat. Keep that shit inside. Cats are the absolute worst and cat owners that think its fun to let them roam wild outdoors are even more worse.

Actually indoor but only supervised outdoors. Let's say I'm more diligent with regards to keeping him from causing mayhem.

seriously, there is nothing funny about the damage cats do when their owners let them roam wild outside. If I let my dog in your yard to dig up your plants, shit on your steps and kill your chickens or other animals with no remorse/recourse, I doubt cat owners would think it was 'cute'

Although, ultimately, this post seems like it was started out of jest...to the few posters that described their harrowing real life situations, my heart goes out to you guys. You guys are the true champions. Puts things into perspective and I really got to stop complaining of all the small shit.
Other than that *funny mode on* I almost lost my shit when I saw that picture of his cat. =) |

LOL, so which is it that we are talking about? People's pet house cats going outside or feral cats?
