F1 2021: Qatar GP - Losail (Nov 21)
5.418 kilometers
Number of laps: 57 Race distance: 306.8 kilometers Number of curves: 16 (10 right/6 left) Distance from pole position to first braking zone: 371 meters Pit lane length: 420 meters; estimated 18s. Narrow track with its 16 curves (10 right, 6 left) 5.418 kilometers. 57 laps planned over smooth circuit. Basically, one decent overtaking point at the end of the straight, which is more than a kilometer long. The only DRS zone was set up here. The way from pole position to the first corner is relatively long at 370 meters. Top speed (simulation): 321 km/h DRS zones: 1 (T16-T1) Tire choice: C1, C2 & C3 hardest compounds Lap record: 1:35:74 (Nico Hülkenberg, GP2 Asia, 2009) Track surface is old surface which should provide give a lot of grip. However, it is unclear how much sand is in the asphalt pores and how much the grip improves over the course of the weekend. Link to GP2 race.

I watched some laps of both GP2, and someone doing it in Assetto Corsa. It seems like a VERY fast track that would be fun to drive, but it looks like there's basically no opportunities to pass. I have a feeling it's going to be a very fast parade this weekend.

Long straight, in Motogp the Yamaha and Suzuki considered better in the corners were easily passed by Ducati on the straight (midrange acceleration and top speed advantage). Yamaha/Suzuki riders would spend a lot of energy in the corners only to be disappointed in the straights. Over the race distance relatively easy win for Ducati.

Well I just don't know anymore...if Lewis takes this WDC he statistically tops Michael Schumacher 7 WDC & I'd rather LH wasn't the one to do that, BUT I want Max not to win it just for the enjoyment of reading MPower Belgie & MRicks woe filled posts..this is what they've driven me to, part of me wanting Lewis to beat the real GOAT....shame on you both
