Video Sample from Canon 5D MkII (Digital still SLR)
First post here. Had to make it a camera related post. Check out the sample video taken from the upcoming 5D. It's breathtaking.
http://www.usa.canon.com/dlc/control...articleID=2086 This will be my next camera. Aside from all the expected still-related updates, it records 1080p .h264 quicktime files at 30fps. At first I wasn't sure about the idea of adding video recording to a higher end SLR, but the sample video has sold it to me. I want this...now. |

WOW. I shoot with a Canon XH-A1 in HD, but now this has your SLR lenses directly mounted on the camera!!

That is insane! Do you still have to focus manually when you shoot video on the 5d?

The guy who shot it said no post processing was involved.

the 5D will be like the iPhone in 2001... This will Rock! It will set the standards, and the rest will lead. Altho Nikon was officially the first HD cam built in Canon, but the way canon present it's tech is really great. Especially with the L series lenses that it carries.

Remember that 11 different lenses were used and I bet it took a lot of trial and error to get it just right. A professional video camera would be a lot easier and better when you consider the price of the lenses.
