It's like manual winding your Apple Watch.

If the EV has 5-minute 100% range recharge and a simumanual and is a sports sedan I'd buy it. No different than a current manumatic in an M4.

Easy fix to the recharge issue is a small ICE as a generator for the EV drive motors. Refill the gas and done.

... Could probably be done lighter than current ICE cars too, with incredible range, and not sound like a wind up toy either. Could easily slap a manual on something like that and match engine speed to EV current output. What a deal!

Nah let's keep stripping our rare elements for something as pointless as EV batteries.

But the magic solid state battery is coming, we just have to wait.

A manual transmission can be set to "comfort", "sport", and "track" modes simply by the technique and speed at which you shift it; it doesn't need "modes", modes are for manumatics that try to behave like a real 3-pedal manual transmission. If you can money-shift it, it's a manual transmission. "Yeah, but NO ONE puts an automatic trans shift knob on a manual transmission."
