Corvette C8 Z06 - looking to buy

A friend of mine in Ontario, Canada is interested in buying a C8 Z06 but says they are impossible to get. He already has a regular C8 Corvette that he would trade.

Anyone have any connections they can offer?

Pay massive ADM's or pay tens and tens of thousands ABOVE MSRP when it hits the used market in a year or 2. I'm sure early owners will dump the z06's when they had their fun with it and get the next best thing which would be the ZR1, that's rumored to have a similar engine we don't know yet but with twin turbos.

It is impossible to get. Even if you had already been on a list. I put my deposit in fall/winter of 2019 and i still don't have mine. I don't even know for sure if i'll see the car in 2023 as my dealer (which is number 2 in the country) basically got no allocations for a '23 model. I'm probably looking at a 2024 z06. But i don't mind because it's GM's first supercar and i want to own that.

Not a joke brother. But anyone who has any interest in cars would know that there is no way to get a Z-06. I'm waiting for someone to reply and say they can get him the hookup:-) Chevy has been jerking off and it's comical they can't get this thing out to people. But no one should be surprised. Someone here brought back a C8 stingray after owning it a day and a guy that races autoX with us bought it on the spot. He would have had to get on a long waiting list if he wanted to just get a new one at that time. They were scarce at that time. When the owner of the dealership learned this, they offered the guy $300K to buy it back, but the guy that bought the C8 wanted the C8, not 300K. He has two of them now.

A close friend of mine is verified to be getting a C8 Zo6 with almost every option. I know he is going to flip it for big bucks. The dealer added on a $50k ADM which I would have told them to fuck off.

Well sure, the owner could have been making this up...but he has money...much more money than I do, more cars than I do. He doesn't seem to be the type that needs 300K at all. This was his story directly to me, no 2nd hand hearsay.

In order for this story to be legit two unbelievable occurrences would have to be true at the same time. Dealer offers guy $170-200k over market price for car. Guy rejects $170-200k over market for car. They both must really, really hate money!

This was a few years ago, when these were real scarce, but given this guy's cars, I do not doubt his story. I don't try to pry, but I also can detect when someone is just making up BS. I had a soldier in the army that would just make up wild ridiculous unbelievable stories about himself and his family. Basically just a pathological liar. I'm not sure if he believed the crap he spewed or not, but I've met a few of those types over the years. It's like they have to one-up everything or are searching for some kind of validation that they never achieve. Anyways, this guy does not come off like that to me, he comes off as someone who is awash in money and wanted to get his hands on a C8 when they came out.

Which brings me to the point: It's probably going to be hard to get a Z06 unless you just get lucky like this guy did, he happened to be at the dealership when the customer returned the C8, but these things do happen...just not all that commonly. Maybe if you reached out to a bunch of bigger dealers and had some friendly salespersons or someone inside that could help you might get a leg-up on something like this. I'm sure it'll happen...it just won't happen a lot.

I agree. But where I live people will pay anything to be first on the block. I've only paid sticker for one car in my life and that was a Focus RS in 2016.
