Possible to remove "BMW" Emblem from trunk (e92)

Hey,

Ive shaved off the "335i" badge already, but have been looking at the roundtel, wondering if there was a way to remove it and have a completely clean back side?

Why would you want to do that?

I could see taking off the 335i could look good. But why would you want to take off the roundtel??? I'm not sure if we are talking about the same thing, i'm talking about the round circle in the center of your trunk that say's BMW on it

I quote Tom Cruiz
"why would you do that?... wait wait wait, why would you do that?"

i know a lot of guys from e46fanatics forum do it. It makes the back look much cleaner. Hell i did it to my 325i. Did look better. But in the end, you have a 335i, show it with pride!... Hell even if you have a 328i show it with pride. I just did it because i wanted to try it out, and it was one of those things that the alot of forum members did and i though it looked hot. I was thinking about doing it to my 335 for a second... ONly for a second = )

well to designe your own i don't know. But i know Bimmian.com and other sites have it in different colors or carbon fiber material, etc... And in ebay i think you can find a AC Schnitzer or Alpina Roundtel. I think it would look hot to individually customize yours. Good luck finding and keep us posted if you find a good place. I'll post the sites i know when i get home, now i'm at work and don't have my favorites.

Are you wondering if there will be holes behind the roundel? If there are no holes, we still have the indentation. NaViT's idea of replacing it will make more sense then removing completly.

x2 - if there is an indentation or big flat circular spot after you take it off, it would look un-dope, or whatever the opposite of dope is. Replacing it with a custom emblem (like a black and white one on a black car) would look good, though.

That's what I was wondering. If the rear is anything like they hood, there will be two holes behind the roundel. IMO, I'd just leave it on. Nomenclature is one thing, but the roundel is a whole other beast.

I'm trying to remember if there were holes or not when we took the roundel off the back of our E46 when it got totalled out (Took em all ). I'm 99.9% positive there were.

Not sure if the E90/E92 hoods have grommets/holes like older BMW's tho.

I just dont get it...Only people with small engines will remove their "318", "320", "323", "325", "328" signs from the back of the car, so nobody knows that their BMW is not as fast as others
I would never remove the "335i"...Show it with pride!

Im not trying to show of my car for what "type/model" it is, i want to show it off for its looks and performance (i guess).

If someone were to doa photoshop, i think people would get a better idea of why its not completely unreasonable. I would, but i am at work.

I ordered my new 335i debadged, and it's all the more discreet for it. Most fast BMs in Germany have no model inscription.

I understand your reasoning as do others. However, in the end it would be more work than its worth due to the holes that would be visible after taking the roundel off. You'd have to fill in the holes, sand them down and paint. If you want to do it though, go for it!

My friend owns the best body shop in town, im not saying i want to even touch the paint and what not, but if it was very simple, especially, if there are two holes and no indentation, then i might need some instructions on how to camoflauge the two holes.

that's not always the case. some debadge for the clean look. in europe, there's an option to order your car debadged.

now for some debadged m cars...

--------

back to the original Q, i've seen it done on some bimmers. you need to bring it into a body shop to get the indentation filled, shaved, and painted. i personally like the roundel in the middle, so i'd leave it.
