Better in a way, but it brought out alot of grain. I would use a flash but I wasn't really paying much attention to my photography more telling the driver where to go haha. Maybe Ill just photoshop some ADV.1's in and call it good =)

Black cars are hard to photograph but black skies are worse.
The first one of the nighttime set that I'm processing now, wanted to share. Hopefully this is not my best. Milky Way on Mt. Haleakala, Maui HI just over 10K feet. Edit. I think there is a bunch of dust on my sensor by the looks of this.

I might try Mauna Kea at 13.7k feet next year, I know I'll have 3 seats available when I drive up there. No one will want to go with me. NEVER try doing this if the moon is up, it will be a waste of your time. By the way, it was breathtaking but only if you enjoy astronomy.

I really like that shot Matt...
I miss Mt. Haleakala Kevin. Next time I go there, I'm definitely gonna try that biking tour on the way down. Should be a lot of fun. This is where I shot this photo:

i was trying to get more blur, but holding a 4.8lb rig while driving a 4400LB SRT with your knee at 1/60 is hard to do, HAHA !!!!
all those "daytime" rolling shots are taken at 1/90 i get good blur on the rims and the road, but the trees in the background are almost still |

i was going more for the soft feel in the picture i didn't want it to be loud as the background seem peaceful and quiet, but i do take your advice in hand for next time i shoot with a louder scene

i like how the black does stand out in the photo but i believe you need better angles of the car and keep your shutter open up just a tab bit more to get the trees to blur even more

Another macro, taken with the 7D, the 70-200mm f/4L IS (a really stunning lens), the EF 1.4x TC and the 25-ET (25mm extension tube), hand held at ISO 800, f/11 and 1/400th second:
Bumble bee on lavender by dcstep, on Flickr The crop is pretty small here and if you like detail and have a fast connection, you might want to follow the link to Flickr and view it in the Original size. I really enjoy looking at bug and flower details that you can't see with the naked eye. Using f/11 I was able to get around an inch of DOF, which is a lot for a macro. We've been talking about ISO here a lot and lots of people would have tried to shoot this at ISO 100, used a tripod and maybe shot at f/8 or even wider. This shows that noise is not a big worry. Yeah, a pixel peeper can find some noise out in the corners at the Original size, but no "normal" viewer is looking out there. What noise there is is not disturbing and it's minimized by exposing properly. Here I shot at +1/3EV and blew out the highlight in the eye, but no one cares but us photographers. I'd rather have the details on the bee and flower and control noise, but not eliminate it.
