Reminds me of this time we were in this strip joint and there was a really fat stripper and my partner said "that's a big monkey"......might be the rum talking.

Not sure how they're found to explain the difference in weight
I hope it isn't another "trust us" source

Nope.... If you watched Kong Skull Island, they discussed how KONG himself was just a child! His parents were much larger. So he grew into his true form and size.

I like both these monsters so I’m in. The problem with these types of movies is they always focus way too much on the human story and not enough on the beasts. Yea, I get that it’s hard to make a 2 hour movie and develop a story when focused on the beasts who don’t talk, but there is a better middle ground that needs to be found IMO.

I did follow that, but it only explains his height
I'm talking about weight
He's around 105ft and 158 tons
If he were to grow 4x to approximately match G's height he'd still only be around 640 tons
If you check out wikizilla you'd find that G is a whopping 90,000 tons

Of course it's fantasy / sci-fi

I'd just like them to at least get up with something rather than the old mcguffin excuse

Just enjoy the fucking movie, who cares if its a bad script or bad story. No one is forcing you to watch it.

Ah yeah - monster fight!

Since some are mentioning their projectors, here are some pictures of my humble home theater, kind of a mashup of several movie themes.

Screen is 110" diagonal for reference, and lighting is up much brighter just to take the photos...

^^ Nice! There is a Home Theater post somewhere in here. I shared my Home Theater setup. But essentially: 135" Silver Ticket screen and Epson 5040ub projector. With plenty of Audio punch from Yamaha and Klipsch.

Kewl - my receiver is a Yamaha Aventage model (can't remember which one), and I have Klipsch 7.1 surround as well.

But I have a secret weapon...

I have a separate amplifier powering a tactile transducer mounted beneath each chair - people cannot believe what they're feeling in my demos! If you haven't looked into those yet - check them out!

I’ll watch it, though hoping it ends in a tie and they join forces to beat Cloverfield in a sequel. I can dream right?

SPOILER: At the end of the movie they become friends, hug it out, then add each other on MySpace while promising to FaceTime once a week.
