debadge car - after market solution

i am thinking that i would like to hide xdrive and 320d badges, is it big body holes to cover up or even easy to remove?

They're stuck on. Really easy to remove, just need a hairdryer, fishing line or cotton and tar & glue remover to clear the residue.

Plenty of guides/vids on tinternet.

I might be wrong, but I'm pretty sure it's just glue holding it on. A piece of cotton slid down the back to peel it off and then just polish the remaining glue off.

Yep, just stuck on. Removed my XDrive and silver 435d (replaced latter with black ones). Just be careful with the hair dryer and dont get it too hot otherwise it can affect the lacquer. Left the hair dryer a little bit too long on the XDrive badge area and it crazed very slightly. Took ages to sort it out with lots of resin polish and buffing back.

I did mine this morning. Hairdryer and an old banjo string (wire). The residue rubs off with your thumb, but still leaves some behind. I used Autoglym intensive tar remover to get it off and then polished it after. Took 15 minutes max.

Warm day, small bit of hair dryer time on the badge and then fishing wire in behind to remove it. Easy.

I've seen people do it with a kettle full of boiling water and some dental floss.

That sounds like the best idea.

Did mine with a hairdryer and ended up rubbing the skin off my fingers i got the metal so hot. The glue took some shifting on mine, so the tar remover is probably a good idea as well.

I also melted the fishing line, so would say dental floss is best.

Difficult to hide the fact that it's an X drive though - using the step ladder to get in and out gives you away!!!!

well finally got around to remove badging, i am happy, her arse looks better

i used boiled water and letters started to come off with medium resistance using flat plastic blade but most of the adhesive tape got left on the body so i carried on pouring hot water and basically trying to break and soften the tape with intermittent usage of the Auto Glym.

+1 The sticky residue was removed with tar remover and then a bit of polish. It does make the back end cleaner

The xdrive badges are actually welded on now because they are so desirable to thieves. Grinder or chisel to take off.
