Total eclipse

Hey peeps,
Wanna go out with DD on Monday to see if we can catch this.
Last time I saw a TC was many years ago in the UK
We where driving and as it started we pulled over pretty awesome

SO where we are, (on the map-Mississauga) looks like we'll get to see only a partial ? is that right ? due to the path

Should we see anything ?

Plannng on taking a picnic to a local park at around that time,
but the time is quite a wide band

Forecast calls for the chances of best viewing to be in the northeast. I'm with dreamingat30fps. Head for the area of total darkness. Be careful though. Lots of eyes will be looking upward not at the road...

I'm in northwest Arkansas. Totality ain't that far away. But will I drive to experience it?

I don't know. Last eclipse (when I lived in Livermore CA) I got spoiled...

Was able to "view" the eclipse from the comfort of my recliner. The images appeared due to the sunlight coming through the slits of window blinds and were on the wall.

As posted in another thread, Taking the new'ish BMW on a nice 2.5 hour drive from Western Mass to Burlington VT area. She could use a good road trip. Weather looks good.
My home is in the 92% totality zone. 5-6 hour road trip for an extra 8 %, sure, why not!!
Weather looks fine.

Oui, Vermont.... not Burlington ON.

Actually, I was just in Oakville ON on business. Near Burlington as you know. Our company has a plant in Oakville ON...

Go to Totality. You are so lucky that you are so close that you can drive. There’s nothing like experiencing it yourself.

It will be extraordinary!

I’m not in Totality in North Carolina, but after looking at historical data, I’m on the Emerald Princess headed for off the coast of Mexico on Monday.

I was fortunate to attend the Monday practice round at The Masters. Eclipse glasses were passed out to all those attending. Georgia experienced around a 86% eclipse but the experience was terrific!

That was an experience for sure. I have anticipation anxiety for most things, so I was getting zone minutes just waiting for it to happen, but like everything, once it started I was good. Such a fantastic sight with the 360° sunset, and just the feel of everything. I'm a photographer by trade, so everyone was asking me about my shots, but I'm not set up to do those kinds of photos, so I just took a few quick snaps and pix of the family. Great experience.

I drove up to Syracuse from MD for the eclipse. Eclipse chasers book 2 places far apart and choose a few days before where they are going to get around weather. Wish I was that smart.

The morning it seemed like we would get lucky, sky was fairly clear. By eclipse time, it was cloudy. I got a few glimpses of it between clouds and I found that I thoroughly was not ready to shoot the event, especially since conditions were different than I was expecting.

Either way, we experienced totality and the artificial night time it created. It is definitely something my kids wont forget.

That's probably the closest to what I recall it looking like IRL. Obviously not as detailed and not so much the "flames" part, but the halo or whatever you call it is a lot more like this wispy stuff than what most cameras pickup which is more glow like.
