how many pretenders ?

I was just wondering, given that so much hinges on performance ratings, surveys etc, how many of the members of the forum are actually dealers posing as BMW-owners-to-be ?

I'm one of these conspiracy theorist types ...

Hell, if ANY BMW dealer registers on BMW boards, I'm going to their service department. They should know what's up by now.

I own 60 dealerships around Canada and dagnabbit, sales of the E90 are so bad I thought I'd sign on to a forum to perk up sales a bit. Yeah, that's the ticket!

If a dealer spent as much time here as most of us, he'd go broke in a week!

It's is possible to be a dealer AND a BMW owner (not an owner-to-be)...

It was just a thought guys, and the feedback so far has been interesting.

From one of the replies you can see that there is at least one confirmed case, which (to me anyway) means there are many more .... so what, no big deal! I just thought it would be an interesting topic to talk about ...

The other thing is that some people might be assuming (or thought for some reason it was implied by me) that a dealer or salesperson might only be browsing this forum during work hours - I never assumed this to be the case. In fact I am guessing it would mostly be after hours. Having said that I am typing this while I am at work

I'll come right out and say it: I'm an owner to be. I don't have a BMW yet, but at my job, I do drive them all day., and no I'm not a dealer. The one I drive most being the E90. I never wanted to come across as a poser or an invader, but I just wanted to 'belong', for lack of a better word, to a forum full of people who are as passionate about BMW, particularly the E90, as I am.

Ok... in case you didn't know already, I work for a dealer and I am a current and past BMW owner. My family is very BMW loyal, and overall we've all had many of them dating back the 70s (before my time).

I had to point my salesman and the Warranty follow-up guy to our forum to let them know what people think of their product after sales.

I'd imagine a few. They shouldn't have to amit it or say what dealer their from (wouldn't want to have to field complaints on a forum ya know). It's good for the actually because #1 They'll see what "hardcore" owners are complaining about. #2 Access to upcoming changes in the mode line (remember BMW sales people only want to tell the customers what 'is' not what "may be").

Also, just as there may be BMW salespeople on the site, their competitors will also be on the site (maybe).
