We're in a pursuit of a stolen U-Haul pick-up truck right now with West Covina P.D. Oh boy!

edit:

Spike strips deployed and punctures successful. The suspect is now doing 65-70mph on metal wheels. Two "articles" tossed from vehicle.

edit 2:

Conducting a felony traffic stop and we have a containment set up.

West Covina's Bearcat has arrived. The suspect refuses to exit the vehicle.

Many moons ago, I personally witnessed a NY State Trooper climb onto the roof of a Lincoln after a *long* chase, rip the sunroof off with his bare hands, and yank the driver out through the sunroof hole by his armpits.

When I was driving to work, I was run off of a two-lane road and onto someone's lawn by this chase.

After I got to work, the same chase ended in a retaining wall in our parking lot...missing my car by inches again.

While waiting for his day in court, the same wingnut went on another high speed chase and ran down/killed two college kids broken down on the side of an interstate highway.....

I watch cop shows, but I haven't watched Live PD or other reality shows in awhile.

That sounds like fun haha. Well not for the weak of stomach, but this one comes at us straight from earlier in the tour about 3 hours ago. A drunk lady decided to leave a trail of hot magma in the back of one of my officers cars after he arrested her for DUI. My guy had to pull over and get out of the car because the smell was so bad he almost puked. It was running down the seats. Unfortunately my agency doesn't buy the interceptors with the molded plastic rear seats, they get the regular cushions...so its in everything. Had to put the car down and it will have to get fumagated and professionally sanitized before its back in service. I have a pretty strong stomach. Blood, guts, puke, body decomposition in varying degrees...Im pretty good with. Hot body chocolate, no bueno.

That is the worst. It smells awful. I am thankful for the black molded plastic back seats in our Explorers. We have trustees cleaning the cars out regularly since people love to spit, urinate, defecate and throw up while detained in the back seat.

Lol! Quite the perk for sure. I need to hurry up and get there. This field work is for the birds and the young(er) cowboys.

I've been on night command for a long time now. January I'm getting a steady day squad, so only a few more months of this then I can sleep like an actual human lol. Honestly I will miss the guys on last out. They tend to be younger and actually want to do the job. I know on days I'm going to inherit a bunch of ROD guys and then of course the administration will expect that I can turn them into super troopers, even though the past 3 Sgts didn't.

Our day shift is much the same as what you describe(d) while our evening/PM shift (…1400-0000 hours) is the busiest with priority and emergent calls. I like to do my overtime on early mornings/graveyard shifts because it's the quietest. It's either quiet or somebody just hung themselves or got murdered.
