Anyone getting into dash cams yet?
A search here did not turn up much.
Seems they are getting cheaper and would come in handy with an accident or altercation. I have not drilled down into this yet newer tech area yet, but this model was the first one that came up in an amazon search. https://www.amazon.com/Falcon-Zero-F...ustomerReviews Not sure I want to mickey mouse my 60k list BMW and hang a dash cam over its mirror just yet. What's been your experience with a dash cam and any recommendation, models or pros or cons? |

I went for this, http://www.blackvue.co.uk/ best thing I've done (well nearly) great bit of kit, already handed some footage of an altercation over to the police.
The cloud function is excellent I can look at my camera from any ware in the world.. http://www.blackvue.co.uk/

I just got this one http://a.co/evRz8Lf
Has been working great so far, and is the same great quality as all the other Anker products I have used. Nice aluminum construction too. |

I recently installed the Blackvue DR470-2CH with GPS in my X5. I like the idea of a 2-channel set-up and this model was reasonably priced with good reviews.

thx for those replies. Since the blackvue piqued my interest from the posts in this thread.
I found this review done on a blackvue. This was this guys first review. He should make more reviews as it was a pleasure to watch. very informative from unboxing, installing to using on the road. Dont know if its my cup of tea yet or it may be to early to be an early adopter just yet, but the cams are evolving fast. I can see dashcams becoming standard equipment sooner then most think. Insurance companies if they were smart, should give them to us for free and give a discount once installed IMO |

just started using a Black Box G1W with capacitor (no battery melt from heat) in my car, suction cup high on windshield, device is small with an LCD screen. Tuck the wire in the headliner adjacent to windshield, down A-pillar, tucked down in dash at windshield the across dash down to power outlet. under sixty $, plus a $12 32gb Samsung Class 10 micro card.
There really is no set-up, just attach suction mount to cam, install card, mount, plug-in. Device came with USB, plus with my firewire adapter it connects easy to my 2017 Mac book. The looping and 3-minute segment clips make for easy retrieval of video. It records sound and it's amusing to go back and listen to conversations. Just leave it plugged in to my cigarette power outlet, in my 235 it turns off after about 20-minutes. Thought about getting another G1W to mount in may rear window and connect to power outlet in trunk. |

Went with Goluk - USB charge so easy to put either behind nav screen or high on windshield then run cable to glovebox. I did that yesterday 5 mins install.

Blackvue quality is pretty crappy, and it's overrated. For a great 2 ch system, invest in Thinkware f770. I just recently picked up a LG LGD521 for the x5m

I'd like a camera that does 360 degrees if there was one. just front and back seems limited. That first one I posted in my first post does front and rear, but I'm not a fan of a wire from lift gate which is sure to break eventually from lift gate opening and closing. This Goluk gets decent reviews. check this guys review, its pretty in depth: ByAdam F.on November 15, 2016 https://www.amazon.com/Goluk-T2-G-se...keywords=Goluk |
