BMW factory tour - Munich question

Will be in Munich for better part of 3 days at end of September (OKTOBERFEST!) and was curious how far away from the city center BMW-Welt is and about how long a tour takes. I dont want to take 6 hours away from Oktoberfest, but 2-3 hours would be fine. Thanks!

I say you should be fine. I would say you need about an hour back and forth between welt and city center. assuming your coming from Mariaplatez and including waiting for subway and the ride time. The tour wasn't that long, maybe an hour hour and a half, then maybe another half hour of buying shit and pic taking. you are totally good at 3 hours, tight on 2 hours.

Cool thanks for the reply! We are actually staying near the Oktoberfest grounds, I cant remember the station though we are nearest. So you can take a subway all the way to Welt? Cool!

It's definitely worth however long it takes. I'd love to go back again. Upon arrival to Germany during our backpack trip through Europe, I had to spend the majority of both days at the Welt and Museum. The factory tour is icing on the cake. I remember seeing polished and unpainted E90 LCI hoods lying on the factory grounds well before the LCI made an official debut.

I looked at the map, and turns out I am staying about a 10 minute walk to Welt, lol. We are staying right next to Olympic Park so its even closer then to the Oktoberfest grounds, making it a 100% visist. Thanks again! It sounds very fun!

It's right across the street from the Olympic park. There's an aquarium there too in that area.
