I actually wanted to get an Accord, but my GF convinced to get a BMW. Being whipped is sometimes good.

I feel bad for them. Even my brother is suffering from that - he wants a manual transmission but his wife doesn't want to learn.
I married a girl who loves nice cars and was "turned on" by the fact I knew how to drive stick (she grew up on it).

My gf has a e90 and I have a e92. When I met her, she had her e90 and I had mine. Both were exactly the same except mine looked slightly better since I had m6 rims, blacklines, etc. It helps when your S.O. is into BMWs as much as you are. She won't buy anything but a BMW and neither will I after owning ours. So hopefully no issues in the future

I am blessed in that department, my wife does not tell me what car I can buy. I just buy what I want within our needs and means. I had a E39 5 speed and now I have E91 6 speed and she drives E90 with a 6 speed. The BMW and manual trend continues in the houshold.
I feel sorry for your friend. |

I really wanted a BMW, my fiance is very eco-friendly and wants practical, inexpensive, green cars. But she knew how much I wanted one so no worries. Now I want her to enjoy the car too so I let her pick the color. She picked montego blue with beige interior. I am generally more conservative and like black or silver so this was a leap for me.
Took delivery 3 weeks ago and can't believe how fantastic this color combo is. Love the car. She loves it too, and I catch her stepping on the gas a little more than she normally would |

Well I drive the E90 and she drives a XC70 and everytime she drives my car she loves it. I prefer she drives the Volvo and as for me the BMW suits me just fine!

Man, most of you guys who make comments like that are prime candidate for learning some life lessons sooner or later. Life is not a pissing match - specially with someone you like to live under one roof. Not to worry though ...it goes through changes and evolves into a mutually acceptable scenario. You get your sports car and she gets her SUV (Lexus, Prius, whatever).
You will both enjoy what you drive at the end. Just give it a chance and some time. |
