alright, Dave. here's a 6400dpi 48-bit color scan, profile converted to web RGB and saved with a setting of 10 (out of 12) to halve the size from 32MB to about 15.
now, mind you, this is a scan with a flat bed scanner that cost under $200. shot at f/1.9 (wide open) and no sharpening applied whatsoever. so you're losing sharpness in all directions: (missed focus margin, and film curl distance from scanner sensor, etc...). i applied a generous flat curve and got the colors as close as i had the patience for using the Epson Scan software. http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7231/7...1643fd_o_d.jpg

thanks, Mark. looks nice, but if i spend the money on a 'blad again, it'll be the 203FE and 110mm f/2. about $5k.

"last vacation" ?? Sounds like you take a lot. We squeeze one in every third year or so.
Great pics, though.

I sometimes think that I'd like one for landscape, but it'd be a hellacious investment unless I get way more serious about landscape. Dave

Thanks. That's the wreath on my front door. I kinda felt the wood was a bit much too. What do you think of this crop?
