alright, Dave. here's a 6400dpi 48-bit color scan, profile converted to web RGB and saved with a setting of 10 (out of 12) to halve the size from 32MB to about 15.
now, mind you, this is a scan with a flat bed scanner that cost under $200. shot at f/1.9 (wide open) and no sharpening applied whatsoever. so you're losing sharpness in all directions: (missed focus margin, and film curl distance from scanner sensor, etc...).
i applied a generous flat curve and got the colors as close as i had the patience for using the Epson Scan software.

Wow! That is nice and she is yummy. I zoomed in on the focus point, taking into account your f/1.9 setting and you can almost touch the detail. 6400 dpi!!! You could blow that up to billboard size. (Maybe that's what you're doing).

Dave

"last vacation" ?? Sounds like you take a lot. We squeeze one in every third year or so.

Great pics, though.

We're w/out kids right now, so we try to take as much as we can. I know that once they come soon, we'll be at home a lot more.

For studio?

I sometimes think that I'd like one for landscape, but it'd be a hellacious investment unless I get way more serious about landscape.

I really like the image, I find the wood distracting, but at the same time, very beautiful.

Thanks. That's the wreath on my front door. I kinda felt the wood was a bit much too. What do you think of this crop?

I would say a happy medium between the 2 images would be good, however, your rule of thirds is better represented here.

Just my opinion.
