That was the 24-105, which lives on my camera. I love the lens, but it just isn't long enough with the wide open spaces here. I need a 70-200mm F4 IS. I've been close to saying "screw the body upgrade, buy the lens" a couple of times. But that means many months before I could upgrade to a 7D or 5D MkII. The 70-200mm F4 IS shows up on CL for a decent price every now and then.

From pictures I have seen....it looks very European...I should feel right at home

Slightly OT...but does anyone love the Fiat Abarth commercial as much as I do? (it was just on t.v.)

Remember, one shot per post.

I really like the second shot, showing both lots of details and motion.

I like the lens flare in the first, but the car has little detail and the electric lines really clutter things up towards the right side. If it'd all been against those trees, then it'd be much stronger. Still, good effort.

Agreed.

The faux Mediterranean is also "classic", in a perverse California way.

Yes, I think you did.

For archetectural shooting you really need to be aware of it and it's natural not to think of it. Also, a water horizon must be level. Of course, any rule can be broken, but if you break this one you need to do it to a high degree so that everyone knows that you meant to do it.

Thanks, Dave. It was gorgeous going by that spot again tonight, but I was delivering take-out Indian to Wifey and needed to press on home. As I stand taking pics of that copse (which I've done a few times) there is a farmhouse directly behind me. The people there must think I'm a Druid or something.
