Heavy bag gloves recommendation?
Just found out my gym has some heavy bags set up and wanted to start getting some workouts on them. Was wondering if anyone could recommend some gloves that won't break the bank since I've seen they can get pretty pricey. I got some wrist wraps already but can't seem to really find a decent pair of gloves. I mostly just see everlast gloves and some harbinger ones but just was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for particular gloves.

Since nobody is helping you out for some reason, I'd say from personal experience I have a pair of 14oz Everlast sparring gloves that I use on the heavy bag. They seem to be very well made and pretty comfy.
But here's an interesting thread I've found: http://www.sherdog.net/forums/f16/bo...vy-bag-953956/ Very helpful. Good luck

I'd tell you don't go cheap on gloves, your hands need to be well protected.
Your wraps should be at least 180 inches, and learn HOW to properly wrap your hands. Get cotton wraps, not mexican/stretch wraps btw. For gloves, take a look at "Title". Dependent on your size, I'd tell you how many ounces.

I use my old 10oz gloves on the heavy bag. Always wrap up your hands.

I've been using my "Twins" bag gloves for 8 years and they look and feel every bit as good today as they did when I started using them. I believe they're 8oz but like others have said, wrapping your hands properly is very important.
I suggest that it you've hit a bag before and plan to stick to it as part of your routine, don't cheap out on your gloves. Cheap ones will not last and you'll end up spending more in the long run.

I have a pair of Rival and Fairtex gloves. If you dont know how to wrap your hands properly, I'd stick with a 16oz glove for better protection. Fairtex is what I mainly use for sparring. Rival gloves are excellent for bag gloves.

I wouldn't use lifting gloves to hit the heavy bag.
