Mileage stoppers?

https://newyork.craigslist.org/que/p...713597460.html

Just came across this. Would hate to get caught doing this stunt. But in today's world it would probably be only a fine.

I would have to believe that the DME would record that event, since that's the oldest trick in the book. But unless someone had their DME checked by a dealer they might never know. And if you do your own service...

None of my business what anyone does to their car, but tampering with an odometer is a federal offense.

Given the above, if you were to decide to proceed, I would caution buying it from Craigslist given you dont know if the person is legit or law enforcement.

Lastly, BMW can see the mileage of your car remotely and I'm confident they're hip to people using stoppers to stop or slow down their odometers.

Good luck tho....

The ad certainly has a very professional look to it - must be legit. Hope they have one that will instantly make mine look like it has 300,000 miles so I can get into Roundel.

I don't know about that device. However I can guarantee you people are rolling back miles. I've heard from several people in Miami specifically that they just avoid going to dealer for service and then take their cars to some place to have the miles rolled back before selling.

I have also seen cars that are in such bad shape that there's no way they have the mileage listed. I notice this especially on BMWs here in SFL. So either SFL BMW drivers are fucking savages who annihilate their cars in just 15-25k miles or mofos be rolling that shit back.
