How much engine oil does this engine take?

I was told 5.5 quarts
when I did my oil change with 5.5 the display came up as max

Well, if oil capacity is 5 qts and you put 5.5, it of course shows max.

Actually it would show >MAX and with that, it's drain it or dealership it!

well when my car came the level was at max
so i dont see why when i do an oil change it should be less than max considering if can go even higher than max

Did oil change after 7000 miles of first service. Used 5 quart. Checked level before and after the change. Normal level both times.
