does your seat have lumbar adjustment? if not, sell it and buy one with lumbar. For some reason, bmw cheap out and make you pay for lumbar adj option. So maybe the previous owner cheap out on this option.

Same thing happen in my car. I took out the back panel and shoved some towel in the lower back section, problem solved. Now i can drive 3 hours a day no problem whatsoever

I have the same problem. I have a bulging disc from pulling out a fence post and sometimes I have zero issues and sometimes I am crippled. (at 33yrs old) Lately I've been doing PT 3x a week to get it to relax and correct my posture.

My back doctor (Ridgewood, NJ) has a 3 series coup and had the same issues, initially. He believes that because of the BMW firm seat, the (evil) run flats and the stiff suspension of the sports package, it can all trigger the pain with an underlying problem. (the seat will eventually loosen a bit)

He suggested a memory foam pillow for below me (not behind me) to absorb some of the shock...does anyone have one they recommend?

The first word isn't capitalized and you're missing a period.
