That was a BS piece of news. There'll be F46, a companion vehicle to the F45 2-series hatchback (it will be like a mini-minivan, EU only), and that's it for that platform for now. Anything newer will likely be based on the successor platform (G-whatever it'll be). F20's last model year will be 2019, so we still have plenty of time before that happens.

Hi,

Another question please, assuming that the i8 has the B38A15T0, do you have a B38A15O0, the upper version of the 3 cylinder which would replace the lower version of the B48 (something like 190 PS and 270 nm) ?

For the B47, do you have the B47D20T0, the biturbo version for the 25d models in the 5-series and X3 LCI ? When will it arrive ?

In the same subject, BMW begins to use the new ZF 8 speed automatic gearbox in the X5 (V8 and diesel models), in the 5 series with the new B47 engines, but the X3 with the same new diesel engines still has the first generation, intriguing !

No such thing at the moment.

F20x, F3x, F48, F15 only. It's not showing in 5er or X3 yet. It will be gradually introduced in the F2x and F3x LCI cars starting next spring and continuing into 2016, and in X5 with August 2015 SOP.

What? Haven't heard of any new version of the 8HP.

Model name change for the re-engined F3x: 328i (N20) -> 330i (B48), 335i (N55) -> 340i (B58).

I guess that means there will definitely be a power bump with the B58

ynguldyn, do you know if the F20/F21 118 will get the new B38 engine and when? I am interested as we get this model in Mexico and would like to know how long the wait could be.

Did your source gave you a reason why the 330i and 340i won't be coming during the same MY it's strange IMO.

Higher output version of B48 appears to need more development time and won't make it by F30 LCI. It's just a few months - 430i will come 6 months later - but for F30 it means the delay until the next MY.

Would prefer an M4 CSL, at least it has four seats. Instead of an M4 GTS would take a pure to seat car, like Cayman GT4 or 911 GT3, or yet Corvette Z06.

F10/11 EOP is listed in the main post. And you can guess that that's when G30/31 will begin production.

Interested in petrol engines for the 118 up to 135/140.
Strongest B38 is 116 or 118?
B48 for 125?
If 118 is switched from 1.6 170 PS to 1.5 3-cyl 134 PS (as 218 AT) will this lead to a 120i?

Thank you for all info so far in this thread.
