1000% agree that marijuana should be fully legalized at the federal level. Not sure on #1 but totally agree on #2, should be zero tolerance when operating a motorized.

Yes! I think online voting should be an option in addition to doing in person (still need to ensure people with no internet, poor access to technology, etc still have ample opportunity to vote via the in-person process).

I think the main obstacle with online voting-- even if 100% secure-- there will be a perception of the process being influenced or swayed due to hacking, fraud, and so on. It would be a much more secure and efficient way to vote in my opinion but too many people wouldn't trust it.

For #1... its almost like cigarette smoking... a lot of people are for it, they just don't want to be around it or exposed to it... i don't see this as any different.

People already bitch about that... so it is what it is... I feel when you have so many voting and polling locations, its impossible to control thousands independently... whearas online, it could all be 2FA encrypted etc... and you could almost make it like a race... you could see who is winning live and get people out to vote... i think you'd see the highest voter turnout ever.

I'm not a fan of Hawaii. It's not that I dislike Hawaii... but for the cost and distance of travel to get there, I'd rather go to another country where it truly feels like I've left the country. All the US road signs and everything being in English just makes it feel like I've spent a shit ton of money to go to another state (because... well.... that's exactly what it is). And that doesn't appeal to me. I like the feeling of being in a foreign land where English isn't the main language and I feel like I've stepped into a completely new world.

I love Hawaii yet I totally understand your point. We live in the Bay Area so catching a flight there is easy and cheap. If I lived in the Midwest or East Coast I'd be looking at other alternatives more often.

I've never been but would love to go... I live close to the Carribean but HI seems so much different... its a volcanic island with so many geographical variances... is it not worth going if you haven't been? I find that hard to believe.

I wouldn't say it's not worth going... I just personally didn't find it as fun as when I went to the other volcanic island, Santorini, which happened to cost me similar. And for the reasons I mentioned... i.e. it feels too familiar - the road signs, the roads, the shops, the language. If I travel that far and for that much money, I prefer to step into a completely different world - that gives me much more of a sense of adventure.

I don't get all the fuss about the Z8. It's a nice enough looking car, but one of the best of all time? Nope. It looks like a cross between a BMW 507 and an E Type, and comes off worse than either.

Just depends on what appeals to you. Some of my most memorable trips include getting lost in a place where very few if any people speak English and navigating my way through that. Apparently in Switzerland nobody speaks English so my wife and I (before kids, and before reliable international data plans) got lost... while some people might find that situation stressful, I found it exhilarating and a great way to explore the city/country.

It's pretty damn hard to get high just sitting around a bunch of pot smoke. I can speak for many that being slightly high compared to an alcohol buzz is the slight pot high gives you a greater awareness, motor control, etc. compared to alcohol. So no, just because pot is in your car and others are smoking it doesn't mean it should be an automatic DUI.

Guess is depends on what island you go to and what you do. I'm not a fan of the heavily commercialized islands like Oahu and Maui. I could EASILY live on the Big Island though. I love that place and visit often. Hiking and camping Volcano National Park, so many hidden and secluded beaches, snorkeling everywhere, walking in the mountain snow and then at the beach in 85 degree air 4 hours later, sitting on grass plains with cows while looking out onto the blue Pacific, getting lost in the rain forests near Hilo, etc. The Big Island is the place to be is you like adventure and less tourism/commercialization. The Caribbean in NOTHING like Hawaii.

Yep, everyone is an expert on parenting until they have kids. Folks like ASAP tend to think that kids should do exactly what their parents say and if they don't, then corporal punishment should be enforced and/or it's a reflection of bad parenting. News flash, babies and children cry and lose their shit sometimes no matter how awesome a parent you are. Sometimes their kid kicks the seat and the parent doesn't see it because they have something else they're dealing with at the moment.

I'd have to say adults are more rude and/or lack social awareness than most children when it comes to public situations. I'd imagine ASAP fits that bill. Loud, rude, out spoken, obnoxious, says cringy things to waitresses, etc.

then you just created a massive deterrent to legalization... there is no federal test to see if someone is under the influence of marijuana and operating a vehicle... at least not one that doesn't have major legal challenges... this exists for alcohol... and the way that I see cars around me driving whilst the odor of weed airs out, its obvious they are being affected by it... which is why its easier to make a clear cut rule

I seem to have hit some major sore spots for a few people that perhaps need to look in the mirror... i am actually the guy that tips extra for the lowest paid worker and the guy that advocated for our healthcare system during covid for frontline workers... but if you think its ok for kids to hit the back of someones seat which is blatanly becoming more and more common, then as a parent, you are in fact a douche
