Car theft using OBD port

This may have been brought up before, but I searched the forums and didn't see anything lately. This video shows how you can clone one of your keys to enter and steal your car.

I'm wonder if there is a way to code your car to prevent theft this way?

How does the key fob immobilizer not prevent this? Definitely concerning.

I'm not joking here...if I walked up and saw myself in the act of executing grand theft auto...on my own car no less...I do not know what I would do.

Certainly I would be discombobulated to a degree...anger?...possibly...awe...likely...becaus e seeing my sexy self in 3rd person would, without question, be an incredible experience.

Best case is that my 2nd self makes my(?) way to freedom with our(?) M3. Then insurance covers a new one. This would leave each of me with a M3. How wonderful would that be?

That would show you everything except the actual theft. I guess it might be valuable to determine the sex of the carjacker, based on driving habits and lane changes.
