Hellcat = 650. I think IT's the torque monster one would have to worry about.
But then you can adjust the power button so you get more with less input! Brilliant.

Edit: The delta of 250 between the M4 and Hellcat is almost as many lb ft as are present in the E92!
No different than saying the guy that weighs 350lb and the guy that weighs 450lb are both fat regardless of the delta.

I know where this guy crashed his car. He probably bought his car from Larry H Miller Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram 104th. Drove all the way to South part of Riverdale to test the cornering.

275's arent exactly skinny tires...

This happened in LA, now imagine if outside temps were around the freezing mark in Colorado, same M3 on summer tires.

BMW crash system was amazing…i dont know how anyone could survive that we were probably going 60 mph…

Agreed, too much power in the hands of morons. Although even the best drivers can get caught with 700 hp. 300 hp is a lot of power it's just that cars are getting pretty heavy that we don't notice it as much. Anyways its a shame to see a car smashed up after only an hour.

Any high HP, RWD car on summer tires in freezing conditions is a bad idea, add in poor judgement and this could be any sports car regardless of badge.

Whether you like Dodge or not it's a shame IMO.

707 hp Hellcat Wrecked -- One Hour After Purchase

Owner wrecks 707 hp Hellcat one hour after buying it. The article doesn't comment on the condition of the driver but it appears he/she survived.

"The driver tried to correct, but the resulting over-correction sent the car across the lane and into a large cottonwood (tree). Thankfully, there was no oncoming traffic at this moment.

To add insult to injury, the report claims the wrecked car was the FIRST such Challenger SRT Hellcat sold in Colorado. There has been no identification of who was driving the vehicle."

Driver was 34yo and he and two other passengers walked away without any serious injuries.

I think we may see a lot of this because its an attainable price point. Also I think many who by this or the Charger version have never had close to this much power under their foot. Add in the size of the car and limited handling, you have a recipe for disaster.

I just hope the media doesn't run with it and start some crusade to lower power across the board in all cars.

This is a result of armchair racers overestimating their abilities. I sure you remember this (one of many).

They are for a 4500 lb car with 700 hp. This car isn't exactly going to be known for its handling.

275s aren't skinny but when you have a 707 hp / 650 tq vehicle using them, they are. Even if it was AWD, 275s are too small. 305s should have came with the car.

The car comes with either summer or all-season tires. Though in cold, freezing weather it doesn't matter if they had studded tires this would have still have happened.

There will be more of those to come. People need to remember, with great power, comes great responsibility. Cliché, but true.
