I suspect the price change is because exactly 0 people signed up for this. With this new price change, I think they might be able to find 5, perhaps 6 people, to sign up for this.

Added convenience of what? Getting really bad insurance provided that has a $1k deductible like these plans have?

In every way it would be cheaper to lease an M2 than to subscribe to this.

These programs are to take advantage of the lazy and uninformed.

1k for 3er... 3k for M?

How about... no. I'd rather get a Benz, Audi or even an Alfa.

For 3K/month, you could get all 3.

Not quite.

What I describe is a plan that specifically only allows switching between just two different vehicles in the same price range for the term of the agreement.

I admittedly don't know how costs breakdown, so the amount of savings to BMW for my theoretical more limited plan is unknown. But the idea would be to get the cost to the consumer down to within, say, a 20% increase over leasing/insuring/maintaining just one of the vehicles.

I doubt it. Even when you count insurance, 3k is too much for a M for 1 month. Especially when maintenance is technically "free".

1k? Maybe for a 3er + insurance. 3k, hell no.

The pricing is a joke. For the lowest tier you could lease a new M3 + insurance for less (assuming you don't drive like a jack ass) every three years.

May sound like a good idea to some but doesn't work for me. I buy/lease whatever I want and can afford; plus I do not like to share my cars with others.

As of pricing, everyone has different standard, some may find it over priced, some may find it reasonable. Of course everybody wants lower and more competitive price. Let's wait and see how this new business idea heads to, should be an interesting one.

I'd find value in the legend tier drive a M2 in the summer and X5 in the winter. It would save me from having two cars and renting an extra garage in the city.

Everyone seems to be missing the point. This isn't for everybody. This is for people that might not have a lot of space to store their cars but want to drive a diverse array of cars. Maybe you need an X5 for the week for a road trip, or maybe you need an M2 for the weekend. This gives you that flexibility. It's personally not for me, but I could see how it'd be worth it for some.

You also never have to take your car in for maintenance or deal with insurance ever again. A lot of people seem to forget the insurance money saved on these subscription plans as well as the time saved by not having to take your car in for service or deal with consumables except for fuel.

no. this is priced for businesses with corporate people who get a car allowance and a way of bundling in their insurance into a single payment. BMW is not looking to get individuals in this.

for me the way i see it , is you can rent an M2 for an entire month with insurance for $1400 with no commitment.

I'd like do that for a few months in the summer, then swap to an X5 for a tailgate or something then quit the program and buy a normal car again.

How is this a good option? It's only for 1 vehicle at a time. Maybe the states with higher sales tax, such as Texas that wants total sales tax upfront even when leasing.

The revised M tier at $2,700, I'm still below this for my F83 ZCP and F85 lease combined monthly payment exclusive of insurance. Over 12 months the savings offsets the insurance and tax deductible property taxes.

BMW needs to drop the M tier below 2k for market traction.
Yeah I didn't mean right now, I meant in the future. If it gets to a point where it's a no brained and you can switch cars every other day/week. May keep one of our cars as the ED every three years lease and the other as the rotator to fit our mood.
Switching cars is a hassle, it's the same as a rental car- meaning you can't keep personal items in the vehicle. Also, vehicle needs to have a full tank of gas prior to switch. Also, no mods. No thank you!! As its a pain in the a*'s.

Thescout13 for the M tier you can lease a M3 and X5 40i.

If I was 18, rich and stupid- this would be a helluva deal.

I'm older, ok and not stupid- so I'll pass.

Maybe sign a 1 month contract and track the hell out of these cars- but that is it.

Not sure what the insurance would be on some of these in TN but it could be worth it. I'd like to see more details, such as what are the options on some of the lower cars, how long does it take to switch/availability, etc. You're going to pay a premium on being able to switch cars that's a given. How much you should pay is the question though. Still seems like it would be a little high priced to me but it's hard to say.

Seems incredibly overpriced to me. In Florida I can get two m2 with insurance and registration for the 1400 a month. The m tier is even more ludicrous. If they brought the numbers down by 30-50% I would could begin to consider this as an option. But no parts or tuning? That's another issue as well. Lol
I pay 480/month plus about 160/month (insurance) and like 50/year registration for my 235i. So it makes absolutely no sense in the beginner tier.

I would guess the most "economical" engines would be the norm, but hard to tell from the information provided.

Still too much in my opinion...

It's a terrible way of testing if that is the case. Do some research, analyze some data before coming out with an offensive set of pricing tiers.
Well, that is your opinion. I think it's fine. Better than starting at $500 and increase it by $100 a month until people drop out. That would really pee people off.
Of course it's my opinion. I assumed I didn't have to spell that out...

My position is that they should have done better at testing, focus groups, surveys, etc. They are really far off from the ideal price if they had to lower by that much. But hey, my opinion it's pure conjecture.

Maybe they did test it out and they suck at predicting the customer's willingness to pay. In an ideal world they would charge exactly the price that will maximize Price x Quantity, but that is obviously impossible.

I do agree with your opinion that starting higher and tweaking downwards is better than the opposite.

Maybe the cheaply insured drivers are subsidizing the terrible ones that pay really high premiums.

I completely agree with you, insurance is a lot cheaper than that offered within the bundle.

Eliminating property tax is worth ~$300/mo where I am. Insurance another $100. Ability to switch — so I don't need two — worth at least $500. This won't make sense for everyone, but it isn't crazy.
