Hey WAY, I've been keeping an eye on the posts re wheels for a 1series, maybe the answer is to get the flared arch kit like the car in the vid, the choice for wheels would then be endless! 19 x 10 ... not a problem!

Wakefield is in Goulburn NSW. About 8 hour drive from Melbourne. 4 1/2 hour from Albury.
I love to revisit Wakefield, now owned by Winton management. It is resurfaced now and wanna try it out. Not like the old goat track anymore.

To Wakefield... well. Accomodation is ok. Break it in a few trip. If I had a trailer, I would have tow my car with kids in the Kluger

Its a good track, lots of off camber corners, plenty of areas to spin off (and be safe), stay in Goulbourn its about an hour from Canberra.
http://www.wakefieldpark.com.au/ For all you people that have never tracked a car you should do it at least once and its great to do with with peers. you can be as fast or as slow as you want its just a great event, very safe too. I'm not a track junkie but have done it a few times and Im certainly not the quickest but very challenging. Good for the heart! Never been to Winton, been past the turn off a few times. Good track? might try that too. Where can you stay? |

Winton is very good track. You can stay at Benalla. 10 mins from the track and easy to get to. Plenty of places to stay there.

If you can master Winton, you'll have no trouble with any track in Aust, except maybe Bathurst.....nothing can prepare you for run from over the top to forest elbow....
Winton has the unfortunate problem of being extremely tough on tyres due to plenty of tight turns and its coarse surface.

I tell you what, if I can get a decent flared arch kit I would do it! The car can really benefit from wider track.

Cool vid. 16's a good time. Should we organise something? Who wants to go? Who bringing the salad, the meat, the dessert, the wine, the what ever it takes?
Serious now, who's interested and maybe say sometime in October?? |
