I sold it last year, should have kept it. Now 991 pricing is through the roof and not the value that it was before despite being an amazing car. I sold it for $100k and had people lowballing me at $80-90k lol. Probably worth $135k now.

But I have a Ferrari FF now which is incredibly awesome and also gone up about $30-40k since I bought it 6 months ago. Though I am tempted to sell, take profit, and roll that into a 430 Scuderia or 458. Life is rough.

So I'm foreign to the Porsche scene and never knew the 911 had a rear seat. Upon arriving to a Porsche dealer in Houston to look at a Taycan for my wife I sat in a 911 and thought holyshit... it can "seat" 4?. The rear seats were the main reason I bought my M8GC. Well we got her a build allocation for a Taycan Turbo S with no markup that'll arrive next Aprilish and I asked about the availability for the 2022 911 Turbo S. I was told a year plus wait just for an allocation. So the hunt was on. By stroke of luck I found a build allocation in California (I'm in Houston) for not only a 911 Turbo S Cab which would also be an April delivery, but a 911 Turbo S that would be next July. Requirement was $10k down for the build allocation and a $30k markup which after calling around to multiple high volume Texas dealers was a great deal and I was told by a few to jump on it and couple even asked for the dealers info.

So boom....

Here's what I ended up with and next April will be a brutally expensive month.

Being my first Porsche..... please give me input as there's sooooooooo many options.

Congrats. But the market is just nuts. I got 5%off my 992 S last year.

That’s a pretty loaded spec, $300k for a turbo S seems nuts to me but it’s an amazing car and well that’s what they’re trading for. What leather did you choose that cost so much extra?

The depreciation is probably going to be painful when the market returns to some semblance of normalcy but if you don’t care about that then more power to you.

Finally saw a 992 GT3 in person the other day, casually parked in front of a restaurant. It was a pretty basic spec, white with black GT3 graphics on the bottom of the doors, and black interior. It did have a proper six speed manual though. Not quite as sold on the design, the front bumper just doesn't look quite right especially considering how good the 991.2 looked, however it's still a very solid design and is much more graceful than most new performance cars. I still think that the 997.2 GT3/RS will forever be the best-looking Porsche ever produced though.

I think it is the air inlets that is souring it for me, something isn't right.

That they showed up on the Mustang a few years prior? Or the lower facia?

997 was really the sweetspot for gt3s in terms of size. the 991 and 992 have gotten a bit big.. even though porsche does a good job keeping the weight around 3000 pounds.

I think most owners on Rennlist say the GT3 is more agile, nimble, and better steering. Some former Turbo S owners say the car is heavy, a bit soft, some turbo lag, and non-existent sound. One guy said the Turbo S transmission upshifts are slow and is a turd versus the transmission in the GT3. One new GT3 owner said the car doesn’t have much torque below 6K RPM. However, GT3 typically has a lot less depreciation than a Turbo S.

I enjoy agile and nimble cars, so I would choose a GT3. Problem is I’m down on the list and can’t get an allocation until 2023 if at all.

They're 2 very different purpose built cars. The GT3 is also nearly 400lbs lighter. You can daily a Turbo S and not be miserable, can't say the same on the GT3. Saw 3 2022 GT3's in person yesterday at a Porsche dealer waiting for their owners to take delivery and it's just very crude. I truly can appreciate it, just not for my liking. Upshifts need to be drug out to stay on top of boost also. Circuit racing is supercharger territory, turbos belong on top speed applications. This is why the GT and ZR1 both performed so well being supercharged. The GT2RS is in a different league of TT applications.
