There was Nirvana and grunge but there was also 90's gansta rap by then, 2pac and biggie, NWA and they did promote violence or some would argue they had violent themes in there music. I don't know that it's changed much since then.

It's not the same thing, FWIW. How often do you see violent movies where the bad guys win? Almost never, right?

Those movies are not glorifying committing felonies. This is, and its disgusting. Our youth these days are even more impressionable than they were in years past. If one kid listens to this crap, goes out and joins a gang, and carjacks/murders someone, thats not OK.

This shit is banned in my house, and my kids know why. Yes, they listen to a lot of music I do not like, but its the message that is important. If they want to listen to trash rap all day, thats fine, but as soon as they start glorifying murders, rapes, etc, thats crossing a line and is not allowed in my house.

You can call me old all you want (I'm 37, FYI), I call it experienced. I supposed you'll understand someday when you have kids of your own.

I am in my 40’s and grew up listening to NWA and Tupac but don’t remember them glorifying killing innocent people for their cars???

The media of the 90s would have violence, drugs and stuff about gang wars etc... but they highlight them without glorifying it.

It's very different to talk about bad things that has happened and why they happened vs making something that makes it look fun to do deadly things to innocent people.
