What Would Win? Atom Vs. ExigeS
what would win in a race atom or exigeS? they are both go kart type cars with amazing handling and speed. seems like a close match no? and the exige is about $50000 cheaper lol.

would it be a close match? im surprised they didn't use an exige s to test against the atom in their episode. instead they used a sport bike but exige s would have been more fun to watch.
when i built my atom it was about $110k lol. |

The Atom, as far as I've seen, is around $50k American..... and it's as fast as Ferrarri's. The Atom is NUTS.

There's 5 different motors you can choose from in the Atom.. They all dont have 300hp.
I posted this in the other Atom thread, but here it is again; 2.2L Ecotech - $35,000 2.4L Ecotech - $38,000 2.0L Ecotech supercharged - $40,000 2.0L Honda K20 - $40,250 2.0L Honda K20 supercharged - $45,750

Pssh. The slowest least modded atom would donkey stomp an Exige S. The C6 Z06 blew away the Exige on a track, and they said the Atom they had made the Z06 look like a minivan on track.
Seriously, it won't take many laps on an average track for the Atom to lap an Exige S. |

they are currently in the process of changing their motors. still using the same manufactureres but different motors. i don't got full details.
they were also thinking of a $250k 500hp car redlining 10-12k but that didn't get into production. could you imagine that? |

hmm.. funny.
pricing info; http://www.automotivearticles.com/12...Atom_USA.shtml pricing info at bottom of page, they did mention a 5-10% increase. Automobile Mag test, 07' model; http://www.automobilemag.com/reviews...07_Ariel_Atom/ Automobile Mag listed starting price at $36,853 So, unless Ariel bumped up the prices considerably since then, that was what I found. I had thought it was a little cheap, but whatever. If Ariel says it's more, it's probly right. Oh, also here's a thread from EvoM from a guy who bought one; http://forums.evolutionm.net/showthread.php?t=207306 He got it with the Honda motor, w/out charger. He did get a bunch of extra's, Alcon BBK, Hondata etc. He said expect it to be $50,000 optioned out, or as high as $60,000 loaded. Seems pretty inline with the pricing I listed considering the starting price of the base K20 model. Either way, check it out if you want some firsthand info from an owner.

Just seems strange considering Caterham is a UK manufacturer.. Also, I dont know if you guys are familiar with the Caparo T1, but it should take the number one spot by a fair margain when it's released.
