Unknown senders on AIM?

I've been receiving a lot of messages from unknown senders. I click one a while back and it says to click on a link (which I didn't). Since then I have never opened an unknown sender's message.

Does anyone know what is going on? I mean I've been getting at least one of two a day every few days. It's getting annoying now.

I scan my computers pretty often and nothing was detected. I figured it was spam and/or someone trying to get you to click on links. What I don't understand is how it keeps popping up. Kinda funky...

I use a couple of programs to scan it with. I don't like Norton because it's slow and isn't that good. I've heard Microsoft Security Essentials are pretty good as well.

Apparently a lot of people still...some people like Twitter, some like FB to keep in touch with others. The rest of us prefer AIM.

Nothing. I do that all the time. However, if you're at home and have the computer on, why not just have AIM on? When I'm on the road/not home texting is fine. IMO AIM is easier than texting on the phone.

I've been using AOL since back in the day. Facebook's replaced AIM for me in the last couple year, but since I still have a lot of e-mail associated with it, I'm still using it. I'm surprised AOL's still in business
