My current M340i is just about to be 3 years old, the point at which I have tended to switch out into new metal.
Connected drive has dropped off. Extended warranty email has landed.
Breakdown cover quote too. When I add these up, they come to sound £80 a month if I was to take them.
When I spoke with the stealer in Dec, the offer I received for switching into a M440i was in my opinion, crazy. Plus £400 a month over what I'm currently paying 👀, £620 vs around £1025 /month!!!, 15k miles, heavily specced with m seats, tech and comfort packs etc. The car buying landscape seems to have moved a mile.

So, in the interests research, has anyone had any decent offers in the last month or so, what is possible out there?

You can get decent discounts off list via brokers (Carwow / DriveTheDeal) or via some of the dealers like Berry Croydon (TRLdeals). BMW PCP interest rates on new factory orders are at about 6% at the moment according to the website. Approved used finance rates are frankly ridiculous, about double that…

Whatever you get will be a far worst deal than what you got last time. Inflation + double the interest rate.

If you want value, maybe consider keeping yours for another year and see how it goes. You’ve already paid the worst of the depreciation.

The new amount will likely see an increase though. My current car is on a 4 year lease with BMW finance, expiring next March. I recently asked for a quote to keep the car for another year, as well as reducing the mileage. I thought this would have reduced the cost but the quote is £50/month more. They noted this and provided the following:

“As the cost of borrowing money has increased, Alphabet are required to reflect the current cost of funding in our pricing. As you wish to extend your current agreement beyond the original contract end date, we require additional funding to continue to provide your vehicle and keep you mobile. This funding is at a higher rate than the funding for your pre-existing agreement. The figures outlined in the attached are the most competitive price that we are able to offer to continue the supply of your vehicle.”

I’m jealous you can keep a car that long!
The market is seriously messed up currently, my car now is 12.9% APR which is awful but currently standard for used cars. The new M340 I’ve ordered will be on 6.9% I believe which is considered very good in today’s world.

Depending what the remaining balance is, what about a personal loan?
I’m assuming after 3yrs there’s still a heavty balance remaining.

Out of curiosity, on the M440i, if the price was right would you have changed?
I considered the M440i Gran Coupe recently but with the changes coming later this year I’ve stuck with the 3 series on order for now.

Yes I would have.
I had a 440i gc last time, and loved the shape and boot. Whilst I love my M340i, i prefer the look of the gc.

It's actually on a 4 year pcp, so I do not have any immediate issues with keeping it a further year. If it comes to it, I can just pay off the balloon at the end and keep it.
Issue for me is the milage I put on. At 4 years it will be around 80k, before you know it will north of 100...
I must be one of the rare people banging 20k Miles a year into a 40i vs 40d...

If it's any consolation I'm doing the same on mine!

Own mine outright though but could be tempted if the new interiors weren't so dismal.

With the new prices being as high as they are I don't really see why you'd change to a new one if you already have an M340i. It's still the same car really.
