What do they do to be on the excellence list?
From my perspective they need to change the rating and divide the dealerships into categories. It is very hard to be a good dealer in NYC because pple are crazy here as are the dealers. Metropolitan areas have limited space, test drives are a nightmare for all, etc etc.

Despite other comments, I have had very good service and sales experiences at Pacific BMW in Glendale for about 7 years and 2 car purchases. Greg Poland, Internet Sales Manager takes great care of his customers.

Interesting to see the negative comments about Pacific. I found the buying experience with them to be fantastic. Plus I got a great deal and the exact car I wanted. That said, I've never experineced maintenance with them (not a LA local).

I can’t comment on Fields Daytona. However, my last few have come from Coggin BMW in Ft. Pierce and they are a good store. I know the manger and he is solid and a straight-shooter.

To all of my South Florida forum friends (and Ibiza too) how in the hell is Braman WPB on this list twice? That place is a joke and no one in their right mind buys there.....

I can only comment on Fields BMW in Tampa where I've leased three BMWs. I tend to search dealer inventory around the state, then negotiate over the phone and travel to pick up the car. Fields Tampa happens to have had cars I stocked equipped as I liked, is only one hour from my home, and each time made the process very easy. Last time Mrs. Fields called to personally thank me and sent a generous gift to a great Tampa restaurant. Little things like that make a routine transaction memorable.

Braman on the other hand. . . Never have I seen sales staff with such an aura of superiority! I thought the higher volume east coast dealers might have better pricing. They comically tried to sell me on the "prestige" of having a Braman license plate bracket on my car like it was something other people and valets would acknowledge.

Luckily, I never had to deal with Braman before leaving West Palm Beach. Your description fits another dealer on the list, Pacific BMW in Glendale, CA. They have had asking prices 25K over sticker.

Why is Crevier BMW on that list? They're probably the worst dealership in the whole state of California aside from BMW Ontario. I've heard a lot of great things about San Rafael.

Your experience is typical for Braman. I actually know the GSM and a few of the sales people and like them. The problem is that, unless you deal with the right people, the sales staff is just like you described and they are actually instructed to sell the "Braman Experience" and membership in "Club Braman" which is a bunch of BS to justify their high prices. They actually think having the Braman name on a license plate frame means something and if someone is stupid enough to buy that line of BS then they deserve to get ripped off. I used to buy from them (and tell them to keep the crappy license plate bracket) because they would give me good deals. After a while, they started giving me good deals and then complaining about it. I'm like, "if you don't want to do it then don't. I'll go elsewhere." "Just because your store is geographically closest to me doesn't mean I have to buy from you." After a couple of deals like that, I started buying from Adrian at Gwinnett BMW, Coggin BMW, Pines BMW and other out of area stores. Like RickFLM4, I live close to Braman and avoid them like the plague.

Despite Pacific BMW's practices, Bimmerfest members often buy from Greg Poland who is a sales manager at Pacific BMW (and Bimmerfest forum sponsor). Experiences often depend on who you use as your sales rep.

congrats to passport BMW! we've had great experiences buying our last 2 CPO bimmers from Teric at passport BMW and wont hesitate to go back when we're ready for the next purchase.

i wish i remembered the names of the 2 guys in the finance department for each of those sales, because they were awesome as well. my worst experiences in other BMW dealerships has been in the finance departments where they employ high pressure sales, shaming, or borderline lying in attempt to sell customers add-ons and aftermarket products / services. the WORST in my experience was BMW of alexandria and i havent been back there in 9 years -- guy wouldnt let up on the gap insurance even though i had a $6K trade-in credit and was also putting $4K into the deal for my loaded E91 CPO that had already been discounted below KBB fair, and i was only financing for 48 months...just unreal.

service department at passport has been really solid as well...have been using them consistently now for 5 years.

They are divided into 3 separate groups and ranked amongst each other, largely based on the volume and size of the store. That just isn't broken down on the list BMW NA puts out. There is a whole list of criteria from sales, parts and service performance that go into the rating.

I've never had any issues with them and I bought my car from them. They helped when Century West (where I DID purchase a vehicle) didn't want to bother after signing the contract on a CPO vehicle. They've always treated me and my cars perfectly.

If it's a low production car, they ALL do. Century West was asking 80K over sticker for an M4 GTS. Car sat forever. I think I saw one M2 at Pacific about 10K over sticker when they were first coming out. No dealership no matter what make, is immune to price gouging on halo cars.

bought my m2 from one of the dealers on this list early this yr - fort wayne. the management was spot on but my specific sales specialist left a lot to be desired over the phone. Overall experience 7/10. I had my car shipped to my state.

Neither BMW of Austin (which usually makes it ) or BMW of South Austin(opened June 2018) made the list. Personally purchased cars from both dealerships. Service department at BMW of Austin is top notch. Sales department are bunch of entitled pricks who aren't into giving deals. Maybe it's changed since we have another dealership in town. BMW South Austin experience great. Gave me 9k more for trade in and the process was smooth. Also the dealership looks amazing.

Not surprised BMW of Akron missed the list again! I picked up my M4 from there 3 years ago (they were on 2016 list), and was definitely a better dealership back then!!

I’m really enjoying BMW of Toledo! They have a great team!
