Question Radar detector mounting for F80

i have a passport max 360 mounted with a suction cup above the iDrive screen but i want to have it permanently installed with a wire directly to the fuse.

can either do the top of the windshield with a suction cup or a blendmount that hangs from the rear-view mirror. anybody have any advice or pics of what it would look like from both locations?

does the top of the windshield have any coating that blocks the detector from reading signals? (that is the case in my friends Benz S550).

On my e92 I have a blendmount and mirrortap. It works amazingly.

I'm hoping my blendmount will fit on the f80 but if it doesn't I will sell it and buy another.

I've always mounted my V1 up above the rear view mirror, and it's worked great!

I think the mount on the Max 360 may be a bit bigger so you'll have to see how it looks.

I'm using the blend mount with a passport 9500. I tapped power from the mirror. I get plenty of false x band warnings so it's nice that the mute button is handy. Only issue is that the screening matrix in the windshield prevents the auto dimming from working.

Do you have pics of what the blendmount looks like in a F8x? Do you find it blocks your sightlines at all? Thanks man!

Thanks. Super easy. I bought the 15" tap kit but 12" is plenty. Tom from eas posted the wires to tap. I'd post a link but search doesn't work from an iPhone.

I ordered from Amazon. For Escort/Beltronics. I think it was BBE-2000R.

Thanks.

I see blendmount is offering an 8" wiring kits and 15" now. I see you said 12" is more than enough. Do you think 8" will be too short?

8 inches should work, but I'd rather loop it a couple of times than take the chance. But if they still offer 12, I'd go with that.
