Bumper protection options

Hey Guys,

Sorry if this is a duplicate ask but I'm looking to understand my options as it relates to protecting my 2010 E60 535i mtech front bumper.

Any recommended clear bras?
Is that the best/recommended option?
Also what about protecting the underneath?

I've come across the following
https://www.lamin-x.com/BMW-E60-04-1...ion-p/b717.htm

Also are these of any practical value?
https://www.ebay.com/i/131882261492?chn=ps&dispItem=1

Just trying to protect as much of the car as reasonably possible. Roads here in MA are brutal.

I haven't done clear bra, but all the recc's I've ever seen really stressed how important it was to work with a good shop that knew what they were doing. I suspect that unless you've done this several times already (doubtful from the Q's), you will be on the rough end of the learning curve and end up redoing it, or not being happy w/ it. That will probably erase any savings. They can also do the full hood/fender panels - I've seen several posters comment that they wished they had done that, as you can see the part line.

Those winglets are an acquired taste, but they do give it a very different look so you won't see a/b else w/ them (perhaps there is a message in that).

Yeah I have ZERO intention of doing this myself. From what you're saying though I can just take my car to an applicable (hopefully reputable) place and they'll have all the materials to get it done.

I thought this was one BYOP(arts) kind of parties

You probably want to do a search on here to see what brand people like best - I haven't kept up on that. I don't recall anything specifically about a really BAD brand, but it isn't something I'd ever gotten serious about. I was just skimming for general info on the protection pkgs.

Based on my research I believe the best clear bra film is Xpel Ultimate. Good luck!
