My realistic spec was £48k GBP, I’d have to strongly consider a F87 M2 comp at that money unless the discounts arrive

Any way to get the 230i body-colored rocker panels on the M240xi?

Overall this car looks overstyled but that seems to be the prevailing theme with G-chassis BMWs. Not a deal-breaker, but just makes me scratch my head as to why.
🤔

Serious E30 vibes with this color combo. Looks better than my G20 interior for sure.

Damn it. They've warmed me up to it. Portimao looks so much better than Thundernight. The front looks pretty good in blue, though I still don't like the back. Optional slicktop is a surprise to be sure, but a welcome one. Hopefully that makes it to America. If a RWD trim is available later I'll be okay with this. 6MT would make me genuinely like this, but we all know only the G87 will get a stick.

With the way the used market is going, I think I'll get close to payoff on my 330i or maybe a little more to have extra cash for down payment if needed. But you're right, the 2 leased close to 4 series prices back when I wanted one. New market prices around here have become insane - I've been quoted 380 for a base Camry with 2K down. Hopefully things get back to normal by the end of the year once this arrives.

Once this whole Supply Chain issue gets resolved the market will re-adjust for used cars. It's temporary, so if you're contemplating selling your car, now is the time. I sold a Lease two months ago that had 6 months left before termination. We were able to walk away with over 3K after lease pay-off.

PS. Few deals can still be had these days but you must work hard to find them or hire a broker. I was able to get S/O into another Lexus with a true zero, sign and drive locally via a broker two months ago lol. So all the money she made from the RX sale was thrown in her savings, well minus the broker's fee.

I'm gonna push my luck and see how long it lasts and probably regret it later beloved 330i GT lease just ended and lovely Tesla has lagged our delivery again, have no choice but to hold onto my 330i. Brokers around here are generally good; not too long ago a 540i could be had in the mid 500's, now that payment gets you a 330i. Good to know Lexus seems to be holding up fine with their deals though, not much has changed. Seems I'll have to hold onto my delayed Model 3 order for the time being.

Everyone hates everything now. At least no one is saying this car is a hoax.

This is looking interesting. I’d be willing to bet the M2 will have a better front and hope it loses the triangle intakes. With all the great colors being shown I’d be tempted to buy a M, as in Mexican, car. I was really hoping for options on how the digital dash is displayed not a fan of the new look.

Agree to disagree. The 240 car has some odd styling quirks and I'm not the only one to express this. 230 is fine and I'm sure M2 will be clean.

Will the car look better in person? Absolutely. Will I get used to it and be a potential buyer? You betcha.

I had a play with the configurator and I'm quite shocked about the prices
a 240i un uk nicely specced not fully, is equal or more expensive then the f87 M2 Comp
Really BMW?

The designers of this 2-Series were doing very well up to the rear of the car, which is plainly uninspired. This is another BMW design that somehow fights against looking as a BMW.

Honestly, the thing I'm most upset about is the lack of Mineral Gray Metallic.

I'm gonna wait for the M2

893M are a must have IMO. Alpine white, 893M, red calipers, Tacora red interior, carbon rear spoiler, all black trim, tinted windows... sounding good. I wish I could rock purple or red paint but that's too much attention for me.

Looks like they're really doubling down on that "baby M" idea. Curious how they'll differentiate the Ms from the M Lites if they're pumping this much into the "tamer" versions. Maybe they'll do what Subaru did with their WRX and STI; no differentiating qualities outside but big differences mechanically.

Good on them either way, hoping to see more of these "smaller" cars on the road.

Completly agree. Curious as well. All around it looks pretty good and the next M2 should be interesting. Things I like less are that all inetrior dimensions are tighter, M mirrors on a series car, stupid virtual dash... loaded up its the same price as my 2020 M2C but you get a sunroof, AWD, 360 cam, HUD, adaptive coils, auto cruise control... hopefully you can get the next M2 without all this stuff
