Better I can trade settings easily. It's still a bit hard dor the timestamp of the pots and reputation count.

Maybe the appreciation icon could be a bit different (and still blue instead of the grayscale now).

Ok I’m working on that now lets see if I can make it better

Side question: if you go to classifieds posts, does the location show up for you?

For example in this one does it say New York for the location?

Yes,it does.

Side note ( ): the "network connection lost" screen is also hard to read in dark mode. I'm getting it almost every morning (CET time).

As mentioned I'm not a usual dark mode haer myself, though I have to admit I'm starting to really like it.

Any screen in particular? Many areas are almost full blast white text. Do you mean for reading posts where it's an off blue color?

Yeah, the contrast there is a little low. I personally find it fine, but would run it through an a11y tester to see if it passes.

A couple things I noticed. The "/THREAD" title shows up sometimes when scrolled to the top of a page. Start scrolling and the thread title appears.

In the latest version the thread title text is sometimes black.

When doing a select all & delete on quoted text (while making a post), an overlay seems to appear amd wash out the screen. I had to go back and start my post over again.

I had quoted a post on a previous page in addition to the post on the current page. I didn't want the previous quote in my post, so I manually selected a large block of quoted text ( I think it overlapped inside and outside the quote, but not sure) then hit delete. Thats when the overlay came up (I could see my text selector below the overlay). I couldn't take any actions, thus I used my phones back button to start over

Regular thread pages seem better. You can change the font. I guess the lettering is a bit bluish - maybe a little more contrast needed? That's the first screen. The problem I have is in the Forum listings (2nd screen). The un-read post really stands out (love the white). The read post titles are ok (dimmed). The tiny print with the 3rd color is what's hard to see. Maybe I'm just being too picky. Thx.

The thumbnail preview shows up on all forums, even though I have that setting disabled in settings. Pixel 6, Android 12 on 5.1.7

From the ground up
The 5.0 series represents a total ground up refresh of the app. Not a single line of code from the old app is here. As you might imagine, that has taken a really long time and we continue to work day and night on getting the 5.0 series up to snuff. Our goal is to make this the single best version of Bimmerpost you can use.

WIP = Work in Progress
Because we've started from scratch for this release we had to rebuild all the of what works back into the app. At the same time, we have been working to build in new functionality to take the app to the next level. In a sense, this App is on three parallel tracks:

Mirror existing features into the new app
Fix bugs
Add new features

At this point we've passed our internal threshold for >85% for mirroring of existing features and <1% for bugs. Of course the goal is 100% for mirroring existing features, 0% for bugs and the addition of new features is totally open ended.

We believe we will hit those end targets within 3 months.

Whats the most glaring issue right now?
Notifications tab. This is our area of current intense work right now. You might notice that your notifications counter isn't exactly accurate. Thats because on the back-end we've prepared the system for a new way of thinking and handling notifications. We will slowly roll this into the app over the next month, and will become more obvious in upcoming updates

*** Please note, when planning to upgrade to the new version, its highly encouraged you first delete the old app and re-install from scratch. Since this is a total rewrite of the app, we think its better if install with a fresh start for the best experience


Can you please add support for 120hz screens? Would help alot since scrolling is a big part of my usage in the app and a smoother experience would be nice. Other than that i appreciate the new modern and intuitive design! 👍

Do YouTube videos go full screen for you if you click the full scree icon, or do they stay confined to the smaller version in the post?

Very small feature request, but you can't click on a user's name and select to see their profile from private messages screen when viewing a PM.

The button to make full screen videos does not work, nothing changes. Also the "YouTube" word button doesn't work, would be good if clicking the YouTube button would open the YouTube app.

If you hold down on their avatar then you will go to their user profile. That should work almost anywhere you see an avatar. Easter egg?

Ok, just making sure, I'm seeing the same thing here. That will make it into a future release soon-ish
