Recently had my windshield replaced because a giant rock chip. it’s a Pilkington OEM front windshield, and I can see ripples/wavy distortions when I sit in the drivers seat and look right (passengers side) at an angle. Looking straight there is no issue on either (driver or passenger side).
It doesn’t make things illegible but definitely noticeable compared to my original windshield. I have attached an image where you can see some of the distortion on the bottom right. There is some distortion higher up as well and also more towards the center of the windshield but couldn’t capture it well (little sunlight and passenger was trying to take the photo from my angle) I understand Pilkington is the standard/good OEM windshield. Is it just bad luck I got this particular windshield? Or is it an installment issue (did it at a BMW dealer in NJ)? |

This is pretty common on all OEM windshields unfortunately. I would still want it replaced.

They should replace it under the parts warranty.
