Remote coding- Hamachi vpn
Seems some programmers use Hamachi VPN but from what I read, this invites a ton of risk for someone to then access your computer at will. Maybe this is incorrect but I'm a noob with Hamachi and looking for others input if there's in fact excess risk of using it. I suppose it could be downloaded, enabled, then disabled and deleted but unsure.

get a separate laptop, like lenovo x201, setup the windows xp or windows 7 and do not mess your real environment with coding and you will have no issues

everyone was using teamviewer vpn until recently teamviewer made it no longer free, now hamachi is the only free option. in either case though, you are giving someone you don't know access to your internal network, so of course there is some risk there. you definitely do not want to leave it running beyond the time of the remote coding session.
