Now he’s double asterisk Max** for last year. I’ll give him this year, even though they (RB) got a head start on development etc I’m sure by cheating. Shame, he’s too good of a driver, they don’t need to cheat.

Gotta still love the buh buh MB/Toto.

How did they cheat, FIA confirmed that everyone was within cap for car development.

Ferrari built a much better car and dropped the ball, not to mention the TD affected them and not redbull so it was Ferrari who cheated lol.

Please, if this was MB you and most of the gang would be flipping out, probably calling for them to be banned from F1. Ironically, I’m sure if FIA threatens to penalize them too harshly, they’ll just threaten to leave, again.

We know they cheated, just not exactly by how much. That plus Masi giving them the WDC last year equals Max** for 21 WDC.

Mercedes has cheated multiple times and all they got was either a fine or a grid penalty, not to mention they got to use their DAS the entire season.

Then you have Ferrari with their lovely 2019 rocket and solved that behind closed doors.

If you noticed this year, the F1-75 was considerably better than the RB18 in the beginning of the year, it was only due to Ferrari's lovely strategy department and reliability that let them down, then TD came and RB development leapfrog them.

You guys have said MB has cheated multiple times and never with proof. The small fines/grid penalties are what nearly every team gets over the years/seasons. RB has been caught in a big one with proof and still won’t come clean. Even in this situation it is hilarious to see people try to spin it back to MB/Toto.

Not a huge Lewis guy, but at least he never needed a race rigged for him to win any of his WDCs.

Gotta still love the buh buh MB/Toto.
But MB building an engine with a 5 year head start on ever other team wasn’t cheating? By that logic every WDC Ham “won” has at least 1 * on it and in 2007 with spygate.

How do you know they cheated? What empirical evidence do you have to confirm they did? Even the FIA hasn’t used the word cheated. If you don’t want people having an acceptable variance to a budget, then you shouldn’t have soft budget limit.

What doesn’t make sense is, RB have auditors that should have confirmed the numbers. If the FIA is saying they’re over it might be because of a spend that may be included that shouldn’t have been. Let’s see what happens before making judgement.

You've mention this before as cheating and I've left it but why is it cheating? They started to develop a new engine as early as they could other teams did the same. RBR forced other teams to stop development of the engines as a threat to leave the sport as Honda was going to leave, but they didn't leave and have now put the Honda log back on the cars now with a really strong engine. Is that cheating, as its a darn sight worse that Merc developing an engine early.

RBR Powertrain devision has already BUILT a 2026 engine 4 years ahead of plan so are they also cheating? No they are trying to perfect the engine ready for 2026, that's not cheating that's engineering. Maybe you will say they are a Chet, baffled.

The difference is that not all teams knew about the engine and didn’t have the same amount of time to do R&D as I recall.

Yes, we should just believe RB/Horner, why would they lie. Oh they just “creative.”

You mean like when the “guys” lump all LH fans together (even if they are not).

All LH fans are the same

Nothing insane here, Max/RB have been dominating all season, and the races that they weren't, Ferrari shit the bed.

Man 2021 really divided the F1 fanbase, it's nuts.

That doesn't matter ..

What matters is "how" Wollf got the inside FIA private information regarding budget spent from the other teams ?
Yeah . That same woman is already twice very well paid by Wolff ..
Where did that Mercedes money came from ?
Looks like 'Corruption Isn't a FIA regulation ...

Red Bull exceeded the budget cap by +/- 1000 'FREE meals/day for the employees at the factory .
Of Course , Sponsored by Red Bull ...
At Mercedes they need to buy their own bread ..That really helps !

A. Newey makes really good money at Red Bull , because he did a fantastic job with the 2022 RB18 .

What's wrong with that ?

RB will be fined for sure , and MAX keeps his 2021/2022 World Titles .
RB will get the 2022 constructors World Title too .

RB will pay that 100K fine or whatever with ease..
Think that's not too bad for a energy drink maker who really hurts Mercedes !
2023 ?
MAX and Red Bull-Honda will do it again and this is only the beginning ...

Both matter and both should be dealt with separately and an adequate punishment should be handed out. I’m sure you are right, FIA will fold like a cheap tent and it’ll render the cost cap useless. Every one will have “creative” accountants and employment/contractor setups.

First time punishments for a first time rule will always be lenient, so the next time they will set down a more severe punishment so noone else does it.

It's always been a thing in F1, you do it once, you get a lenient slap on the wrist, and everyone else gets a warning that if they do it, it's going to be much worst.

It's going to be a fine, and then FIA will lay down the new rules for the next time someone breaches the budget cap.

It's all about loopholes and FIA finding out about it, filling that loophole, and teams continuing on finding new loopholes.

Christian H has said RB will appeal strongly to any fine imposed by the gov body.
They have proof they say that the extra spending was on items other than actual F1 car related tech improvement if their a/c's tally which I'm sure they do and action needs to be taken against the person in fia who passed secret information to a certain team as regards another teams' alleged spending.

FIA also confirmed that no-one has overspent on car development as well.

People are just salty that RB nailed their 2022 car perfectly.

2021 wasn't just the upgrades for RB that won them the championship, it was Mercedes who made countless mistakes throughout the season (and HAM) and during preseason, you could tell their car was not developed as good as the years before.
