maybe i misheard or misunderstood, but they said during the cleaning process to never spray the cleaning foam on the leather because leather shouldn’t get wet, you only spray it on the brush so you’re essentially cleaning to top layer of oils living on top layer of the leather. i don’t think the cleaner is supposed to penetrate the leather? i also know the leather protector and leather shield act like a wax or ceramic coat, where they don’t penetrate but just create a layer of protection against dye transfer or minor damage.

again i could be completely wrong but that’s how my brain understood it.

I'm speaking about the respray. After the dye they applied a two-part urethane coating which would effectively seal the leather on that side. Kinda like Dakota leather.

We should all mourne the death of Sreten as we know him. RIP bachelor Sreten.

The final episode of Project Rottweil (E39 530i) is now up and it looks factory fresh!

Nice episode as usual. E39 looks factory fresh! Love to see really good PDR wizards work their magic on dents and hail damage. A true art form.

I really can't wait to watch a episode which entails fixing a problem with the climate control system.

Probably unpopular opinion; these detailing episodes are tedious. I want to watch for the 5 mins of PDR satisfaction and glorious final shots, but man, I really don't dig the detailing! Sreten, I fully support your motion to have someone else do that henceforth!

Can we get on with the supercharger now, please?

Edit just to clarify; I'm not complaining at all. I'm well aware that I don't have to watch them all! I'm just saying that, of all this good stuff, the detailing episodes are my least favourite.

They are a *tad* tedious, but it's content. It's what goes into finishing a project. I'll gladly watch.

Plus, what they did with the Alpina made my jaw drop.

I'll watch it.

I wouldn't mind having more numerous, shorter episodes though.

I had the same reaction. Just for fun I went back and watched the first couple of episodes and then the last two episodes; it's really, really hard to believe it's the same car. Sreten did an amazing job on that one. I'm ready for some S65 content.

Yes to S65 and less detailing. Just can't sit through someone putting that much effort into the exterior when it'll become less than perfect the second you drive the car. Unless you PPF it, which is a whole other thing I can't get behind.

Lastly yea, sad he got married. All the best...
