There is a lot to see on this island, tons of History. Google The Tomb of the Kings, lots of info about it.

Oh heck yeah! If you go, make it right around middle of September to November and the weather is perfect there. After November the rain sets in, and they get some good storms out there. Not sure when spring is, but I've been told the summers are nasty hot unless you are up in there mountains. Vacation spot for sure!

Panicos, lightened up I really like your picture.
Mark, a little deep on the reds and blues. The birds look florescent now. Rodi, nice baby pics. Thanks for sharing that.

do you stay here or you come and go? if you are wondering about spring, its now although its a bit cold here, unusual thing, but we will be back on track in a week or so (according to the weather predictions).. best time to visit Cyprus is april may june. July and August only if you can stand 40 degrees celcius. But we are surrounded by water, you can jump in anytime.. For anybody seeking to travel here let me know, i will tell you where to go, been living here for 31 years now

Ring-necked pheasant in full sun:
Ring-necked pheasant cock in full sun by dcstep, on Flickr I know that I blew out the white on the neck, but I couldn't resist exposing for the beautiful feathers every place else on this bird. Dave

Nice pic, Dave. The detail you achieve amazes me.
We went the Champaign today to shop and have dinner and ended up driving home in an unexpected snowfall. I hate driving in snow at night. It's like hyperdrive on acid. This is my front yard. Note the daffodils coming up. They're confused by the bizarre changing weather we've been having. So am I.

Thanks. It's all about ETTR (expose to the right) and using an incredible lens.
This particular image is worth looking at in the Original size over at Flickr. Just click on the image here and that'll take you to it a Flickr, then right-click on it and select Original size, assuming you've got a fast connection. Dave

It was just Star Wars then. Saw it in a theatre when I got home from Korea. But that shot is pretty much what it looked like driving home tonight. Dizzying to say the least.

But I know that vision with the snow. Not something people from the south are very familiar with. If at all. |
