Late to the party but we've had several over the years,making a switch to M-B in 2005 then back to BMW in 2013.
Here's the list:
-E36 328i(1st new BMW my future wife and I purchased in '97)
-E46 325xi
-F20 128i convertible
-F30 330i xdrive
-F39 X2
-F30 330i xdrive(daughters 1st car)
-G30 M550i(piece of SHIT!!)
-F97 X3MC LCI (current)
-G22 430i convertible(current)
Never had any issues with all of those vehicles,alas they were purchased new but just sayin...except the 2020 M550i. Was about to Lemon Law that fucker but decided against it,dealer bought it back and I moved forward into my X3MC which I love

1986 325es 5spd bought new, sold at 220k miles
1992 535i 5spd bought at 20k miles, sold at 240k miles
2002 330i bought at 35k miles, sold at 180k miles
2010 528i bought at 20k miles, sold at 150k miles
2011 328i bought at 5k miles, sold at 60k miles.
2019 X5 40i bought new

Did all maintenance and repairs except one drive shaft and two clutches.

That's awesome! Are you mechanic? I think there's nothing better than taking care of your own cars like apparently you do! Is the same as with my computers! I do take care of them always myself! Never visited a dealer-shop! Would love to see some pics!

I started working on my cars at 16 out of necessity and collected tools as needed over the years. Worked in jobs doing electronic repair, computers, instrumentation and computer-controlled hydraulics. The internet made BMWs much easier to work on, so I stuck with this brand. I like to build furniture more than anything now.

I flat out love this minivan! It's a blast to drive and after a simple piggyback install it makes some decent power

From that list 2 E30 have been M's and 2 E36's were M's one a Z and one Coupe. Have my original E30M and E36M still. Had been looking for a E46M and started to make my E36M into S54 powered but sold the engine/trans combo and put an S52 in vs the older S50 and autotragic.
