Global Warming - Fact or Fiction?
Saw some good discussion on another thread and decided to open this one up. Recently read the book "State of Fear", by Michael Crichton and it raised some good questions about the truth/spin of the media regarding global warming.
Katrina, Wilma, etc are causing media to raise the awareness of global warming and man's effect on the environment. I'm all for cleaner burning engines, less polutants, government restrictions on toxic dumping/etc. However, after reading the book, I'm starting to question some of the data presented by the doomsayers. Any thoughts?

I haven't read MC's book, but reviews I've read of it seem to indicate he is advocating his particular viewpoint on the subject... it is hard to know what to believe. A book I read a few months back is one I'd recommend everyone read, Thom Hartmann's "Last Hours of Ancient Sunlight", http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg...glance&s=books This book talks about the impact we have had on the environment, how we got to the point we are at, steps we can take to turn things around. It's not a work of fiction.

Yeah actually i heard rumours that the book was 'bad' or rather not as good as previously, as it was politcally loaded with potential propaganda.
What everyone can agree on tho is that emissions are bad for health, if not the cause for global warming. |
