My HDR PhotoJourney Across the U.S.

So I just moved from the northwest to the midwest and along the way I was working on my phototaking skills for some of the backdrops and scenery of our vacation stops.

So here are the shots.. most the vistas are HDR'd but there are some non-processed shots thrown in as well:

While I wish I could've made the trip in the 335, this was an SUV-only type trip tho. There were some stretches in Montana, with hardly a soul, I could've gotten top speed for sure. Weather was great all throughout and I'd definitely do something like this again but man my butt-cheeks hurt from all that driving..lol

The landscapes and HDRs where taken with the Tokina 12-24/F4. All my regular shots where on the Nikon 18-200VR.

I really like this one...

what are you using for post processing?

If you have photoshop CS4 (or maybe even 3) try upping the vibrance for a little more "kick", also using the shadow/highlight tool - highlights specifically - will help bring out more of the true colors in the shot and less "white" glare in the sky and water.

Strictly Photomatix with some level adjustment in CS4.

Thanks for that tip on the shadow/highlight tool - I'll give that twirl.

ha! I have that same model MDX, I'd take the bimmer anyday for a road trip. I used to live in Ohio - Columbus, then moved to Utah from Cincinnati. I don't ever want to go back - other than for a buckeye's game. Great pics, I've been to quite a few of those places.
