Hamilton should be replaced with Russell.

With still no signing it should now be apparent to everyone that HAM is holding out for lottery win money every year rather than love of the sport.
Wolff would do worse than bite the bullet now and sign Russell, forget about BOT as he already has a contract in place.

Lewis Hamilton is the best driver in Formula One. Period. End of Story.
Mercedes Benz has committed to Formula One for a long term period of time.
Toto Wolff is the best TP in F1 and has created the best work environment in F1.

Do you honestly think that they would replace the most significant driver in the history of the sport with a pimple faced lad? And I like George...a lot.

This is really poor reasoning.

P.S. HAMs social network reaches 1 billion people. 1 billion. Think about that for a moment.

P.P.S. Your hatred of HAM is really showing.

It's a business decision that I would take.it's not a question of hating (showing a card again are we MXS? and it doesn't matter how many followers any driver has, Merc isn't a show off for over paid drivers. Sorry to rain on your parade mate.

LOL!

If this isn't a business decision you wouldn't take, I know that you haven't worked in a significant corporate environment. The call of the day is maximizing gains while significantly de-risking exposure to anomalies while wiping out the competition.

Re-signing Lewis hits all of these marks in one fell swoop.

You are, once again, wrong.

You may not think so, but I've spent more time with Mercedes F1 management than you have and have 35 years in corporate environments.

Lewis has worked DIRECTLY with Mercedes for his whole career.

Again, you are soooooooooo wrong that it beggars belief.

Strange that a Gerhard Berger (61 year old retired F1 driver) says something and you decide this is the full truth. How does he know as I think he has no connection to Hamilton or the MB team? Maybe we should get some more "facts" from Villeneuve as he seems to know everything.

I do believe Hamilton wants more money but the idea that he has no love of the sport is nothing more than speculation.

Facts are he has produced the exact results that MB wanted from him and they have no issue with his job performance.

Oh boy. You're being rational with that one. Do you know the definition of, "A snipe hunt"?

I believe there is a money cap on drivers earnings and with the delay in signing you can guess there is stalemate in argument about money and I make up my own mind on what I think is happening. I just put on Berger's snip to enhance the thread.

You guess there is stalemate about money and believe Russell would do just as well or better than Hamilton. Both possible but it is speculation at best and it still puts zero value on the "Hamilton" brand value. As said above he promotes MB and all of his sponsors to a level that Russell has no chance of doing in the short term. Sponsors/Marketing and fans are what ultimately pays the bills.

Where did you come up with the idea that Hamilton no longer has any love for the sport?

I can see why you were trying to "enhance the thread".

Also add the when Ocon didn't get a drive last year some talked about this travesty and how he was the next best thing. Drivers standing for this year he got 12th and Riccardo 5th.

Here is a link, M5theonlyone to the careers section at Mercedes AMG Petronas F1 team.

https://careers.mercedesamgf1.com/team/business-roles/

I suggest you reach out and let them know you are THE MAN with the best solution for their current problem with HAM. I'm certain they will thank you.

You're hilarious. I will share a personal anecdote. I managed large contracts for a biotech in SoCal. One of our largest contracts, nearly 20% of our revenue, was up for renewal but they were having major transition challenges with a new system. We went about 120 days beyond the end-date with this particular entity before the contract was signed. No one worried. We had a 9 year relationship with this entity that was spotless. When their internal tumult settled, they signed and each party honored the provisions of the contract without deviation.

Contracts are representative of the levels of trust between individuals and organizations. This particular contract was only 12 pages long for a total transaction amount of over 500 million dollars over a 3 year period. Conversely, I've written contracts that were 50 pages long for organizations with spotty records. It's all about trust.

Lewis has a 20 year relationship with Mercedes and is the most successful driver to have ever been with the team.

Have fun with those windmills!!
